U don't have to drop tank. Pull spare tire and lean over the axle. Pump will come right out. Don't forget your fuel line disconnect tool. Other then that it's just the connector and switch the pressure sensor from your old sending unit to the new one. I just did mine last weekend in about 20 minutes
Little update on everything here. Was going to start the bumper build but decided to do some much needed maintenance on her. Had a couple small vacuume leaks. Took care of those and my fuel pump started dying. I just finished swapping the pump yesterday.which u can do without dropping the tank...
alright you all have gave me some much needed inspiration lol. Been out wheeling it omost every weekend lately. Ive had a 12K HF special sitting in my garage for awhile now. Guess ill have to get some steel and start the bumper build. As far as fitting 315s all ive done is a torsion bar crank...
I love it. It's much cooler inside. I no longer have to even run the AC half way up. here in hot Florida. 15% seems perfect not much darker them the factory tint and can see through it clearly at night.
Update on the trail rig. Just threw some 315s on it. Bfg km2s. Had the windows tinted with 15% ceramic all around. I'm about to start the bumper build for a 12k winch. Guess this is turning into more of a build thread lately.
Check down on the starter there is a small group or wires that go to the starter. If those aren't hooked up u won't get prefer. I'd also check your main + cable going down there. Could h just be they overlooked something.
I'd drive mine anywhere. With my 10 month old in there without a worry in the world. 161k and going strong. Does 120 mile commute everyday 5 days a week at 85 plus. Gets wheeled pretty hard on the weekends. Keep up on maintenance and listen to the old gal now and then and u should be fine. My...
There going to break. They always do. I've done 4 or 5 of these trucks now. Either have a mig welder handy or invest in a stud remover. It makes a world of difference. I spray everything when I pull it in and it's hot. Pb blaster is your friend here. Also make sure u have access to new manifolds...
Finally bit the bullet and did my exhaust manifolds. I've done then a few times on my other trucks. Even a set of long tubes in my 5.4 superduty. Still nothing makes that job easier it just sucks lol. Thought I'd share the pain and triumphant moment when the inner fenders went back in lol
The...
yeah it's all mostly mud. Seems unless you have giant tractor tires and 1000hp there isn't much to do. I came from Michigan where the trails were awesome and I had dunes to play in. Whole different world fown here.
U have to keep the front for your a/f ratio. The rears u can get something called a non fouler. On Amazon super cheap. Screw those into the bungs and the o2s into those. Say good bye to your check engine light.
Those look good. I always liked the round ones. I just did square because I didn't have a bender and also wanted a less slippery more stable step. I have 3 chitlins that need to get in and out. They are made from 11 gauge 2x3 and 2x2
Here they are in all there glory. Came out allot better then I thought and certainly alot nicer then the cheapo factory ones. Plus they add some real body protection
I welded mine. Added gussets to the plate. Be easy to do a bolt on style. Id just use angle to wrap the frame with a u bolt. I thought about bolting then but I've already decided this ex will probably get sas and some extensive fab work. So wasnt to worried about welding to it.
