I paid $7200 for my 2003 4x4 EB with just under 140k miles on it...in 2012. I'm at 218k now, and still going great. Its been our regular road-trip vehicle. I usually change cars every 2 years or so, and this one will never go away. If/when it finally blows up, I'll probably drop a new heart...
How are your tires? The only time I've felt any sway was when I was on my spare (full sized) that was several years old. You could tell the sidewall wasn't up to the task, and it felt like I was driving a boat with all the motion. New tires solved it.
Here you go for a winch bumper, or get something made custom local

I drove it daily for the first 18 months, then my wife took it. My middle daughter put the...
generally speaking, you can go 4-4.5" wider than the rim. It varies by manufacturer, so I would err on the side of caution. So for a stock 17x7.5, the widest tire you should run is an 11.5"
I can't help you on your original question, but have you checked voltage at the motors? 3 different units moving slowly might be due to low voltage at the connector.
My 2003 has a 4r70w. The only ones that should have had the 75 would be the 5.43v motors, so late '03 production could have them. The 4.6 motor would have been the 4r70e.
Are you sure you had/have a 4R70w? AFAIK, they didn't use the r470w in 05. It was replaced by the 4r75 in early 2004. Electrical sensors are different. If you have a 3v 5.4L, you should have a 4r75w.
I am going to put new brakes on my 2003 4wd Expedition this weekend, and I am going to bleed the brakes while I'm at it. I'd like to use speed bleeders like I do on the other vehicles, but Russel doesn't have any listing for the the Expeditions. Does anyone know the bleeder valve size?
I get about 13 around town, 17.5 on the highway. If I'm easy and cautious on the highway, I get closer to 20. My wife gets about 10.5 around town. Of course, she could make a Prius get single digits...

I just had a similar problem. It is most likely a vacuum leak in the brake booster, on the pedal side. I replaced the booster, problem solved. An air ratchet or power ratchet makes the job 10000 times easier. Also, removing the coolant reservoir on the drivers side fender makes it much...
