99 Expedition EB Mach audio system problem

To solve my audio issues I did a fresh install in my '97 Expy with a modern touch screen radio, ran fresh wires to my indoor speakers and replaced the amp in the passenger side rear panel. If you have the time, particularly in the era of Covid-19, you can have a bumping system on the cheap if...

Newly Installed Smoke Roof Running Lights

Yep, my bad, I ran out of time to finish the wiring before posting the pics, I'll add another with them lit up soon. They lights I bought came with stainless steel screws, each light takes a screw in the front and back. I'm going to swap them out for black screws so they blend into the lights...

Anyone Know Where A Brotha Can Buy These?

Saw these rear light guards on a 1st Gen Expy in front of me a little while back. Does anyone know where I can buy a set online?

Saying 'What's Up' From Albuquerque, New Mexico!

Hey MO311FAN, The 'bigfoot' switch runs the floodlights on the push bar. My rationale was, if I found myself in a position where I thought bigfoot was in front of me, I could use some extra light right before I shot first and asked questions later. I just picked up some extra floodlights I'm...

Saying 'What's Up' From Albuquerque, New Mexico!

Hey Adieu, I know right! The story alone makes it worth owning. On the mechanical end, I just did all the standard maintenance... New plugs, wires, filters fluids, etc. It was misfiring and just didn't feel right when I first got my hand on it, but after all the usual stuff, it runs like a...

Saying 'What's Up' From Albuquerque, New Mexico!

Hey Robuilt! We did a few this summer, but like an idiot, I didn't take any pics of my Expy when it was fully packed. Had the tent, chairs and the canoe on the top rack and everything in the back after popping out the 3rd row for the trips. Here are two pics from the summer, the first one is a...

A Little Black Flag Action Just In Time For The 4th

Ah yes, the Iron Bull is always the ultimate negotiation device! The black and white American flag has a history going back to the civil war and has been used for competing reasons which have nothing to do with each other. It’s been used by anarchist groups as well as veterans’ associations. I...

Air lift conversion 1999 eddie bauer

For real, a 6" lift would be an epic undertaking. On my 1st gen, I replaced the front air ride with some coils, above average shocks and added 3" leveling keys to the front torsion bars. For the rear, I replaced the air ride with coils, some above average shocks and a Daystar 2" lift kit. Beyond...

    Streering column

Sorry to hear about the anti-theft thing going south, I've had my share of 'Doh' moments where I was swapping something out and forgot to disconnect the battery before jumping into it. Previously I had contemplated something similar where I wanted to swap out the climate controls in my '97 Expy...

2nd Gen lift glass bracket broke

Good call on hitting up the local U-Pull your own parts place. I can't tell you how many little things I've gotten from there that has saved me a ton of cash.

    Streering column

Cant speak to the steering column specifically, but I've discovered in my own quests that while the Navigator parts are extreemly similar they do vary slightly. I've only had luck with the instrument cluster and sun visors fitting perfectly in my '97 Eddie Bauer when pulling parts from the same...

Air lift conversion 1999 eddie bauer

Nothing special you need to know. I did the same thing where I went to my local U-Pull your own parts place and picked up some coils for the rear end to replace the air ride shocks. My only 2 cents is that if you want to do a body lift, now would be the time to knock out two birds.

    Dash lights

Hey Fred, here are the LEDs I purchased to redo the dash lights in my 97 Expedition. I used blue but you can get a variety of colors. You can also use the extra T10s for the running boards, license plate lights and many of the interior lights as well. The only trick is that the bulbs do not...

    3rd row seating

When I purchased my 1st gen Expy the 3rd row seat was missing and I couldn't see the mounts at the time so I assumed I had some weird model of Expy where the 3rd row was optional. Turns out the previous owner had some custom speakers in the back at some point and had new carpet installed that...

    Rear AIR Suspension Concern

Just this last weekend I took my kids off roading into the desert to look for jack rabbits, lizards, snakes and such. We came around a blind corner and hit a big pit of sand which stopped us in our tracks. This would have been no big deal under normal circumstances however my self leveling air...
