Excessive Play in Rear Axle - Please help

Thank you both! I really appreciate it. I'm scheduled to get the wheel bearing / hub assembly replaced Monday. Will update this post afterward in case other users run into the same issue. Thanks again.

Excessive Play in Rear Axle - Please help

Hi all, I could really use your help. I still cannot figure this out without throwing parts at it. My '07 Expedition has excessive play in the rear axle. Truck has 208k miles and I'm pretty sure the suspension system is almost entirely original. Mechanic said the wheel bearing is bad, but is...

    Loss of Acceleration & Hesitation

Let me know how it goes. I have new spark plugs and a new fuel pump but haven't inspected the rest of the fuel system. I'm not sure how, tbh, so keep us updated. Good luck!

New to me 2007 EL LIMITED & all it's problems

Sorry to hear about your issues. I have an '07 and am always surprised to see posts calling these "low maintenance" cars. Mine is in good condition at 200k but has in no way been cheap to maintain or repair. Can you please post a link to these headlights?

    Loss of Acceleration & Hesitation

Take a look at this recent powertrain complaint (NHTSA #11221382): https://www.nhtsa.gov/vehicle/2007/FORD/EXPEDITION/4%2520DR/AWD%252F2WD#complaints. Sounds very similar to what we're experiencing.

    Loss of Acceleration & Hesitation

Thanks Kevin, I'll give that a try. I will note that it's a different feel than a misfire. I had an '03 before this one that had quite a few coils go bad, and it didn't have quite the same symptoms as OP posted/my '07 does. Couldn't hurt to try it though

    Loss of Acceleration & Hesitation

Nope, I just took the "quirks" into consideration and adjusted my driving habits. :(

    Loss of Acceleration & Hesitation

You're absolutely right, but I couldn't convince/assure any other mechanic that the first set had already been replaced. No one would touch it for less than $400 so I figured I'd rather it be done by someone with experience. The local Ford dealer was the lowest quote I received. The original...

2007 Expedition Limited 230,000 mile report

Thank you! I appreciate it. My inspection is past due because no one has figured the CEL cause out yet. I'll give your suggestion/solution a try.

2007 Expedition Limited 230,000 mile report

How did you find out the catalytic converters were failing? I have a P0174 code (system too lean - bank 2) and am wondering if one (or more) of the cats are going out.

    Loss of Acceleration & Hesitation

I have the exact same problem with my '07. I had the spark plugs changed for a 2nd time just before 200k miles. The job ($370) was done at a Ford dealership using Motorcraft plugs. Performance improved slightly but new plugs did not resolve the problem.
