The only problem I have had with brakes in 30 plus years of driving is with stainless steel braided brake hoses. I hit the pedal hard one day and it blew the hose open right where the crimped ferrule and braid come into contact. Fortunately I was about a block from home. That was several...
My 1996 honda accord had no oil leaks at 150k plus miles and no major repairs. My 2003 expedition needed a new transmission at about 86k miles. Rear end has been making noise since buying it used in 2007. Windshield leaked and caused all kinds of problems. Heated and cooled seats won't work...
Extended warranties are for people that are bad at math and also bad at being financially responsible. If you did the math you would see that about 12 percent of the money you spend on the warranty is actually used to fix your vehicle. And financially responsible people have a fully funded...
On my 2003 I went ahead as a precaution and just bypassed the fuse panel fuel pump relay completely. Do a Google search or search for the wiring diagram to figure it out. Use a good quality relay like Bosch for this.
I believe I used the grounding signal from the pcm that goes to the original...
Transfer case does not take mercon v. They have a special fluid as stated by the other poster.
Front and rear axles will depend on what you have for a differential. Consult door sticker and take on rear diff to determine what matches up in the owners manual.
Don't forget brake fluid flush

I know the transmission in my 2003 expy was s h i t. 4r70w. Had to rebuild at about 86k. Not sure what they put in a 2006 but I doubt they are much better.
Every few years. If it isn't the same color as when it came out of the bottle then people aren't doing themselves any favors by not cleaning the system out .
I just hook up my extractor to each wheel until it runs clean.
I just left my car turned off. Waited for the battery save to kill the dome lights and then opened each door until I found a door that didn't turn on the lights. Happened to be the last door, passenger side rear. I had sprayed the hell out of all the latches already with no luck.
Took the...
Do your draw test as mentioned earlier in the thread. I believe the factory manual states the draw should be between 24 and 26 mah. I find it odd to have such a small differrence between the 2. And this is for a factory vehicle with no after market stuff.
I use an obd 2 Gauge reader thing that mounts inside the car. It shows me running between 175 and 184 with it mostly hovering right at 180 degrees. That's with 67 degrees and below air temp. I have not checked it with higher air temperatures.
That's with stock t stat and maintaining the...
Sorry I didn't see this question until just now. The receiver had a battery in it and it had micro USB charging so I could just keep it plugged in from the cigarette lighter outlet like charging a phone
I would want to know how much flow is actually going through the system. I haven't worked on cars at the dealership level since the 90s so I'm not sure what tools they have to determine coolant flow rate through the radiator. I'm just guessing you have a clogged up radiator and everything...
That would be a hell no. In order for them to buy back the car that means it has been to the dealer multiple times and they couldn't fix it. They have consulted with engineers and many smart people with massive resources and have been unable to fix this car. You don't stand a chance.
On average, about 12 percent of the premiums paid for extended warranties actually go to repairs. The rest go to commissions, and overhead. That means if you pay 3k for a warranty, you will get back $360.00. Put your money in savings and avoid the warranty.
I bought my 2003 Eddie Bauer used and it had the factory radio with navigation and cd player. It also had the disc changer in the center console and rear flip down 7 inch ( i think it was 7) screen and dvd player. I guess that explains the 60k msrp sticker which is ridiculous
I threw the 6...
Integrated fuel pump relay in fuse box at passenger foot well is definitely suspect here. They are soldered in. You can test this theory by using a 12 volt jumper to the 14 gauge green with yellow stripe wire on the plug in at the top of the fuse box.
When it goes bad it causes issues with...
For my 2003 with the rear entertainment. I used a $15 or so bluetooth receiver. If I remember correctly, the bluetooth receiver has a headphone type jack output and I used that with an adapter to rca plugs and the rca plugs went into the input of the rear entertainment . I had to play with...
