Would love to hear some feedback from anyone that's been running this air filter. I just installed one today on my '18 FX4. Was kind of a pain to install from the fixed tab side of the air box due to the very tight fit.
I'm running the 4WD F-150 5100 front's on the lowest stock setting and Expy rears on the highest setting. I was running the RL 3/2 before, and I'd say the stance is pretty close. The ride is a vast improvement over the RL w/ stock struts/shocks. Also replaced the stock UCA's with the ICON...
Yes the rears are adjustable as well. Mine are set on the highest ring and I ended up with around 2" of lift. You could set them on a lower setting to achieve the 1" your looking for.
Thank u sir. Well I made the mistake of not doing a pre-measurement before having the 5100's installed, but I'm going to say it's closer to 2'" of lift in the rear. Bilstein claims 1.6", but it's definitely closer to what my ReadyLift 3/2 netted. I think the front might be a smidge over 3"...
20x9 Fuel Vector's with +20 offset. They sit just a hair outside the fenders, very close to flush. Lifted w/ Bilstein 5100's...F-150 4WD fronts on lowest ring and Expedition rears on highest ring.
Installed AMP Research power running boards. Very impressed so far! Incredibly well made. They tuck up under nicely and give it a really clean look.

Fair enough! Guess I've just never heard of someone being called a hack, with a positive connotation:handshake:
Concerning the OP's question, perhaps if you're willing to settle with a 1.6" lift vs 3" lift you could go with Bilstein's dedicated 5100 adjustable ride shocks for the Expedition...
The "hack" using F-150 shocks? Please elaborate sir. I just replaced the 3/2 Readylift for the Bilstein 5100 Expedition rears and F-150 fronts, and I'm quite pleased with the results so far. It sits right about where the RL did...with much improved ride, handling, and travel. Installed a set...
Iv'e had no issues with the ReadyLift, other than the fact that I don't want to use the factory shocks anymore after these failed at 13K miles...and some have had them take a dump with way less milage than that. And no, from what I can tell there are no factory replacements besides OEM.
The...
Reference 95cobby's setup under the thread "Bilstein 5100 Lift Install", and thats what I'm shooting for. Looks like he had great results using the 4WD F-150 5100 front's set at the stock height setting(apparently netting a 2.5-3" lift) , and the Expedition rears set at the highest 1.5"...
Hello all! First post here. I’m getting ready to ditch the ReadyLift 3/2 setup on my ‘18 FX4 for the Bilstein 5100’s, utilizing the 4WD F-150 fronts and Expedition rears. Any feedback from those running this setup would be greatly appreciated! I like many have experienced the failure of my...
