    Cargo Area Bed Ideas?

Hey John - What I did was cut a piece of plywood to the max. length that'll fit - then rip it down at 31.5", which leaves a 16.5" as well. I fold down the dirvers' side rear seats and put everything on that side: a folded cot, camp chairs, folding table, tri-fold mattress, cheap carpet, duffel...

3rd-gen: The el-cheapo eBay front-only 1.5" lift? Has anyone done it?

A 3/2 lift might be too much for my short wife - and I'm ok with that. I'm trying to keep the budget down - and only messing with the fronts should be half the price (right?). Also wondering if the : 1.5" STRUT MOUNT SPACER LIFT LEVELING KIT would be enough to notice? Would like pics/input if...

Best way to create flat/level floor with no gaps?

$10 foam mats from harbor frieght...to pretty perfectly level the rear area to the folded 2nd row. Then a $2000 sheet of plywood cut to length (and also cut lengthwise), to fill in the gaps. Covered it all with carpet. Instant camper for the wife/daughter.

    TPMS issue

I'll be following this also. Just put some newer F-150 wheels on my 2008 - and a couple were missing the valve stems/sensors. I know I'm going to have that tpms light now on permanently. I'm looking for the cheapest way possible to get that light off - even if it's disabling the system.

ForSCAN 2007 Disable TPMS or turn off in IC

I'm late to this thread - but hoping someone can take the from the beginning... 1- 2008 Epedition XLT 4x4. Just bought a set of used 18-inch wheels and used A/T tires for $250 to replace my stock 17-inch el cheapo car tires. 2- The local shop said there's 2 missing valve stems on the 18s...

    Why leveling kits...

...when my Expedition is already level? 2008 XLT 4x4 - just measured wheelwell opening heights - and it's 34.5" front and MAYBE 34.75" rear. Surely that's not tall enough that there's already a leveling kit on it already? How do I go about getting (keeping) it level and also adding another...

Best way to create flat/level floor with no gaps?

Yes I’ve done that, it’s mostly flat but it’s still at least an inch higher than the rest. One guy built a platform box that had a “step” in it to create a level/flat/solid 49x78 (or whatever) platform. I’m just trying to do that simply, (don’t need drawers or any of that) and not heavy. If it’s...

Best way to create flat/level floor with no gaps?

Just got a 2008 - and length/width are fine, but the folded flat 2nd row is still about 1.5” taller than the back 2/3 of the cargo area - and they don’t have the folding flaps like my 2000 that created a flat surface. What’s a good way to “raise” that back part to create a level floor, and fill...

    Frozen/Stuck hood release. HELP!

Needle-nosers were the key...and patience. All is well...I can add washer fluid now :-)

    Frozen/Stuck hood release. HELP!

My hood pops up with the release, but the lever under the hood is frozen. Can't get the dang thing open...

New engine or new vehicle ?

    Funny - 4 hours later, a 2004 with 155k shows up...for $3800.

New engine or new vehicle ?

I agree with your take: it's not worth putting $6k into an 18-year old SUV with 200k+ miles. But when you find: a newer than 2003 Expedition 4x4 with 170k-ish miles for $3000-3500, please send them all my way. I'll take them all, then possibly double my money reselling them. Here the cheapest...

About to buy a 2008, what else to look/listen for?

I drove it yesterday, and it ran pretty good for 173k miles...no hesitation/stumble. Started it up cold, no rattling and no ticking, no creaking or groaning (not me, the truck). The price is right, compared to every other 2007-08 XLT around here with under 200k miles. I don't know if it's had...

    Bought a 2000 Expedition 4x4 within about a minute...now i'm nervous!

Well, 2.5 months - sold for what i paid (minus the plugs/coils). Ran good while I had it, served it's work purpose, and now someone else gets a better running truck than I did. Now I'll take more time to find a second-gen (flat folding seat would be huge) - with less miles, and a little more...

    Bought a 2000 Expedition 4x4 within about a minute...now i'm nervous!

It was a company-owned/maintained vehicle for it's first 15 years, then the guy had his daughters drive it until recently. The manifolds are even quiet. It had a check engine light for a cylinder-misfire, but replaced all the plugs/coils and it's running right. Of course the rockers are rusty as...

    Bought a 2000 Expedition 4x4 within about a minute...now i'm nervous!

The guy's phone was pinging off the hook from incoming messages - I guess because the price was right. I felt I had to get it - for $1300 with 176k miles and the 5.4L. (And rust). I clearly rushed into it, because it ran pretty bad - though it reminded me of my old Crown Vic, (which was...
