Low Compression on Cylinders 2 and 4

2010 Ford Expedition 5.4 3v - My mechanic (Christian Bros Automotive) just told me that he did a power balance test on my engine and it shows that cylinders 2 and 4 have very low compression. He said that it is either a cylinder leak, a cracked head, or a cracked engine block. He recommends a...

    Issue with power mirrors -memory

I'm just curious if you ever resolved this issue? If so, how did you do it? I'm having the same error on my Expedition. Thanks!

    DTC P2098

Follow up: I disconnected the battery for a few hours and then cleared the DTC codes using Forscan. The P2098 code went away and hasn't returned. I will say that I forgot to disconnect the battery while replacing the O2 sensors so its like it didn't register that it had new sensors. I'm not a...

    DTC P2098

My check engine light came on recently and it indicated a problem with an O2 sensor. So I replaced all 4 O2 sensors. My 2010 Expedition has 184,000 miles on it, so I figured while I was under there, I would just change them all. The check engine light went away and it drove without issue for...

Driver side AC not working, changed blend actuator not fixed now what?

I'm just curious if you were able to resolve this issue? I have the same problem but haven't fixed it yet. I found this post with a lot of good information about all of the actuator locations. https://www.expeditionforum.com/threads/actuator-blend-door-lessons-learned-front-and-rear.53171/

    New ac compressor

I know this was last year, but I'm curious what resolved the issue for you? I did notice that mine takes 36 oz of freon, not 54 oz. I know that the receiver/dryer in the condenser coil can clog after replacing the compressor. So, had I seen this post last year, I would've recommended replacing...

    AC Compressor Replacement

I just had to do this last weekend (twice). It's not a hard or time consuming job - and I'm no mechanic. (To do it, I used the loaner tool program at AutoZone to borrow a gauge set and vacuum pump. I know you said you have all the necessary tools, but I wanted to add that for others who might...

    A warning…

I'm getting ready to replace the timing chain components. I'm curious if you got to install these tensioners and if they worked out well? Did you upgrade your oil pump as well? Any other information you can share before I purchase all the parts? Thanks!

    Key FOB Replacement

Thanks for your reply. I had thought about doing that but don't think it would hold for very long and I wouldn't be able to change the battery.

    Key FOB Replacement

I have the two original keys for my 2010 Expedition Limited. They both work but are starting to come apart and I need to get replacements. So far, everything I can find seems to be around $200 each. Have any of you found a less expensive way to replace one of the keys/FOBs?

Rough shifting transmission when stopping and starting.

No. It's not something that I even considered as the issue. I was already planning to change the plugs in the next few months, so I guess I will make that a priority. Thanks for this tip.

Rough shifting transmission when stopping and starting.

    Ok. I'll give that a double-check. Thanks

Rough shifting transmission when stopping and starting.

Are you referring to an ignition coil? I'm not sure which part you mean. Thanks for your response.

Rough shifting transmission when stopping and starting.

When I am coming to a stop, it's like the transmission is late to get the notice to downshift and roughly comes to a stop. Same thing when I start driving again. I give it gas and it sits there for a second or two and then it's like it slams into gear. Today, I took my foot off the brake after...

    Airbag cover (above glovebox) removal?

Can I find out how this went for you? That cover was badly scratched on my Expedition before I purchased it. The rest of the vehicle is pristine. I tried scrubbing the scratches, but it just made them worse. I want to remove and paint the cover but am definitely nervous about messing up the airbag.

    Vibration

I have the exact same problem on my 2010 Ford Expedition Limited. It has the factory 20" rims. I recently replaced the tires thinking that would help but still have the same problem. I've had several tire shops and one mechanic look at it and they haven't been able to figure it out. The last...

    Changed my oil today..............

I had a Variable Cam Timing and sludge issue on my 2010 Expedition at around 120,000 miles. A Ford Technician told me that it turns out that everywhere else in the world that Ford sells this engine, they recommend using 5W-30 motor oil. But in the US, to meet emission standards, they recommend...

    Variable Cam Timing and sludge

I had a similar problem on my 2010 Expedition. I thought I was facing an expensive repair until I came across a post from a Ford mechanic with a recommendation that I tried and it resolved the issue completely. Step 1: Purchase 2 11oz cans of Bg109 Bg EPR Engine Performance Restoration. This...
