Turn the key to accessories mode, go slow and wait 3 seconds to allow the teeth to line up and spin, then turn it on fully.. That should eliminate so much grinding
I see what you’re saying. I have the air suspension model E B, that I changed over with standard shocks. I did lift it with my torsion bars with those coil overs in the front, and then I ended up taking the coilovers out because it was too bouncy and went with regular shocks and stiffer coils...
1st Gen, 335,000 since ‘02. Only major thing I did on the engine was the intake manifold other than that besides regular maintenance I have never had any problems with my motor before I replaced it last year with a brand new one.
The U-joints in the immediate shaft, seem like they made the steering loose when it was failing. But after having mine for 20 years when I replaced it which cost less than $350, the steering was back to normal. But also keep an eye on the 4WD actuator that goes out after 20 years also.
I also mine and installed Kenwood speakers all the way around. And then cut the sub in the back and replaced it with a (2), 12” subs enclosed in a box with an amp. It sounds amazing
All I can find is 4WD, so I looked under AutoZone and this is what I found so I would go there to see if they have the part number for the whole assembly.

Yeah, I’m not going against your opinion it’s just all the reviews that I see online and all the shops that have written and said that they would never put in Jasper ever again because of all the problems besides all the other customers who have complaints and then there’s just constant pages...
