Dial Shifter - Let Me Vent!

Just had a newish F150 (2023) with a column shifter for a loaner. I was wondering if they still have it as mechanical or if it’s just a lever that tells the computer what position it is in. I would think one of the experts on here @LokiWolf might have some Forscan knowledge and a company like...

    Approach Detection - MY2020

I have scanned through the Forscan pages looking for this same option if it was config setting. I’m wondering if a Navigator Forscan sheet exists. I too would like to see if this is something to enable. I added lights to the power running boards and this would be the icing on the cake.

Quick question on vehicle sounds - interior

Just had my vehicle in for service and my airbag light came on while on my way to drop it off. So I asked them to take a look in addition to the other work they were doing. Turns out for the past few months my vehicle has been telling the ford database/server that my BCM is losing...

    Anti-theft measures

Similar posts on this topic suggest a kill switch. I had one in an older Jeep. In my 19 I have had some ideas of where to add one without causing too much electrical trouble when activated but effective at disabling the vehicle. Active vs passive arming is also something to take into...

    Bad Mojo Yesterday

Three small scratches in my vehicle are from the dealer. Not to the extent of what the OP posted but just enough to know I didn’t do them. It is very frustrating and when they are small I feel it’s hard to say they did it. They take pics and video when I drop off and I make sure I drop off...

row of red LEDs on dash in front of driver

If it is on and you haven’t triggered it while driving that means you have good following distance. Avoiding a slower moving object/collision will keep it quiet. As others have said it’s one of those features that’s nice to say you have but even at its lowest sensitivity will scare the shit...

    Sunroof Maintenance - How To

Old thread, but thank you very much for the write up and the link to the Ford procedure. I had purchased the Krytox several months ago and procrastinated doing this job. My Expedition was creaking like the hull of a ship! I spent maybe 30 min using the steps outlined here. I could have maybe...

$550 to replace rear brake pads: reasonable?

I needed rear pads at 48k. Vehicles with adaptive cruise will use rear brakes to regulate speed, also it would seem vehicles these days use rear slightly more to maybe minimize nose dive on hard braking? Just a theory. Picture of my rear pads at 48k. Old vs new.

$550 to replace rear brake pads: reasonable?

As others have said pads only, too expensive. But if you are getting a flush that’s still pricey but they have the equipment to flush the old fluid also to cycle the ABS and not get a lot of air in the system. . If they are just bleeding them you can do that yourself.

On cold start hearing rattle and clonking from front suspension area

I have the same sound in my 19 platinum with CCD. Only when cold and goes away after a few minutes of drinking. Any irregularities in the road amplifies the sound. I read another similar thread and someone mentioned a body seam making contact but I don’t see how that would go away...

Motorcraft vs. other wheel hub bearing assys

I just had my fronts swapped under warranty. Driver @40k , passenger @50k. At the time, I looked into Moog, HD and also timken, not much info in Expeditions. (These are a little more popular in the Jeep parts bin). I will look I to mevotech. Thx for the recommendation.

Can't find a 23 with APA. Skip APA or go 24?

APA is a novelty. I have used it twice to just see how it works. In real world traffic and parking lots, it’s just too cumbersome. Learn your corners and mirrors and use 360 cams worse case.

    2023 one month ownership views.

In the 2018-2021 the hands free lift gate can’t be turned off through SYNC or IPC menus. Possibly in the 22+ My 2019 I physically disconnected the sensor in the lower left rear bumper fascia because this is a poor design. Works when I didn’t want it to, and when I tried using it wouldn’t...

Grinding noise when turning the wheel 2019 expedition limited max

So update after a few weeks. Front diff and grinding is gone but the low speed popping noise is still evident when starting my drive in the morning. Was someone on this thread saying it might be a body seam making contact? Pulling the body from the frame as a fix? I remember reading...

Grinding noise when turning the wheel 2019 expedition limited max

So I picked mine up yesterday and the differential work did resolve the noise and clunking I have had. While they had chassis ears on the front end, they also noticed or picked up noise in the front passenger wheel bearing. Replaced it as well. One thing I didn’t mention was that in the...

Grinding noise when turning the wheel 2019 expedition limited max

I’m not sure what part of the front diff they repaired or replaced. But sounds like they already rebuilt yours. Was it the spider gears or the carrier bearings. I’m hoping when I get mine back the noise is gone. Ugh. Sorry

Grinding noise when turning the wheel 2019 expedition limited max

Have them take a look at the diff carrier bearings. My 19 has 48k miles and an unidentified noise the past three trips were finally confirmed last week. I’ve had a slight vibration in the accelerator pedal for over 8k miles but the past month it was progressively getting worse and light turns...

2018 Expedition Transmission overfilled by Dealer and resulting issues

Just curious and may be slightly off topic but still related. I rented a Tahoe with the same trans and after hours of driving. Hills and hwy driving (enough to get it warm) It never once went over 145°. Maybe apples to oranges? I feel like the Expedition using the same trans would be in a...

Raptor Steering wheel on 2021 Expedition Platinum.

I have asked this question in F150 forums but it always goes unanswered. So when you use the Raptor paddles for shifting, does it manually shift gears different than the +/- on the console? Or just lockout top gears and you have to switch to manual mode on the console? Ie driving down the...

    Gauge cluster screen update

Im not a fan of the newer gauges but I would like to have the external temp display in the cluster. Using Apple CarPlay it doesn’t display in the radio screens unless you are in the Ford screens.

    Moog front hubs any good?

no difference between 2wd and 4A. I also had them check the vacuum lines, check valves and actuators.

    Moog front hubs any good?

Curious on how you are determining it to be the hub. I am asking because I have asked my dealer 4 times to identify the issue and they keep brushing it off as other items. “No issue found”, “Oh it’s the tires” , I just put brand new Michelins and it’s the same as previous set. “It may be...

Cracked valve cover - common problem?

For those of you who had valve cover gaskets replaced I am in the same boat. But the driver side valve cover is said to be on national back order. And my issue does coincide with the cam phaser repair. Both sides were leaking. I was doing an oil change and find oil under the engine...

    Steering Wheel Heat - Forscan?

My 19 Expedition steering isn’t hot but it is comfortable to keep on almost all winter and it’s warm enough. I’ll check what temp it’s at currently. For some reason 88F is what I think was default when I upgraded my F150 with the harness and wheel. I’m thinking 90 might be just a bit more...
