    A/C blowing hot at idle

I had my AC charged and checked out. It's still not terribly cold, especially if it draws outside air. And yes, it gets worse when in traffic. Not sure it's because of the large cabin or it's just undersized. I am not sure the rear AC helps much. It's the same air getting siphoned off, I think.

    Looking for advise on tires...

If you like Coopers, Pep Boys is running a buy 3 tires, get the 4th free with no installation cost. It comes out to $621 out the door. NOBODY beats that price.

What kind of 4WD do we have?

There are all manners of 4WD. What mechanism is used on a 2010? Does it have a center diff, locking center diff, locking rear diff? Does 4A lock the center diff? What odes the traction control button do? Lock front and rear? Can you lock all 4 wheels in a true 4WD?

    Steering Shaft

I have been experiencing something similar. It sort of just happened. Here are the symptoms: steering wheel stiffer than before, does not return to center and, more oddly, turning the steering wheel feels "lumpy"; it feels stiff and loose as you turn the wheel. Are these the sign of what you...

    Misfire and spark plug recommendations.

You could be describing my 2010 Expedition. Same miss and same CEL. Took it to the dealer because my local mechanic wasn't sure he could fix it. They first changed the camshaft timing control solenoid valves. Didn't fix it even though the computer said they were defective. Changed the coil on...

    Replacement tires

PepBoys is running three for four deal on the Coopers. With free installation, nobody can beat them. I am looking at the Firestone Destination. I don't know why. Cooper seems "off brand" to me.

What tires look good on the Expedition?

Pep Boys has a killer deal on Cooper Adventure H/T. Somehow I look at Cooper as "off brand" though.

What tires look good on the Expedition?

The next contender is the Firestone Destination LE3. I am sure that has a few distractors too. It has a pretty tame thread pattern but better snow traction. Interesting, I have Grabbers too but I do get stuck in snow relatively easy. They are worn though. Have you considered Firestone...

Cost of New Brake Pads and Rotors

Why would a company that has no qualms building the whole car in China all of a sudden get an epiphany and make their OEM parts in the US?

Cost of New Brake Pads and Rotors

So how do I tell one Chinese part from another? The Ford seal of approval?

Are you SURE Motorcraft parts are NOT made in China? Show me the box.

What tires look good on the Expedition?

I have a set of General Grabbers that need replacing. It caused me a few embarrassing moments in the middle of the snow storm here. Expedition is more of a passenger vehicle than an offroader so I suspect chunky tires won't look good on it. At the same time, I don't want to go with street tires...

    ford spark plugs

Heard the spark plug issue was dealt with in later model years. Anyone knows when that happened?

    Misfire in the 5.4L engine

Truck just turned 100,000 miles and I have no idea if plugs have been changed. There re a myriad of causes people mention. I would like to see if you can KNOW for sure before start swapping parts.

    Misfire in the 5.4L engine

I am getting the P0308 code on my 5.4L 2010 Expedition. Ton of people get this code but here are the symptoms specific to me. No issues starting up and idling when cold No miss under light throttle, cruising Starts missing under hard acceleration. CEL starts flashing then stays steady The miss...

    Keypad lock- again

I BROKE THE CODE! But it wasn't all math. I haven't seen it done this way anywhere so here goes. First I noticed [1-2] and [9-0] buttons are the most used. The rest were pretty new so I had to deal with just three symbols, A, B and A&B. You need 5 of them to make a valid code. Since repetition...

    Keypad lock- again

OK codebreakers. I inspected the keypad with a magnifying glass. keys 0-1 and 9-0 show signs of wear. 9-0 has more wear. The rest are pretty new. How big is the search space? It's gotta be much smaller if you take three keys out. Does this mean the code starts by pressing 0-1 or 9-0? EDIT...

    Keypad lock- again

Just called the dealer. $49 and almost half a day wasted time to bring it in for service. Not sure if they too have to take apart the trim or they just plug in their computer.

    Keypad lock- again

Once you get to the box problem is solved. I just hate to pull trim pieces. They never go back in tight. May be I could get over it once the novelty of the "new" car wears off. I don't see taking it to the dealer. What is the scheduled service @100,000 miles?

    Keypad lock- again

Hi all. As a "new" owner of a 2010 Expedition, I'd like to make my debut with an old question; where to find the keypad code. I've done my homework but none of the ways I have read appeal to me. Ask the dealer Check the inside of the owner's manual Look for the factory card somewhere Use two...
