    Lockers & Regearing

Its been a little while since I've been able to work on my rig, so I've just been doing research on what parts to buy next. Unfortunately we've been having record setting rains in NorCal lately and my shop/hangar is leaking like a sieve, so I've been dealing with that (and spending plenty of...

2nd Gen Fluid Change Mega Thread

Hey guys, looked through these forums and didn't see anything similar to this, so thought I'd start it out. I'm going through and changing all the fluids in my new-to-me 04 EB, and was able to find a copy of the shop manual, so as I go along and do all of these fluid flushes for the first time...

Overfilled transfer case, possibly a leaky output shaft seal?

I just pulled the fill plug out of my 4wd 04, and a TON of fluid came out. The drain plug is still in. Maybe the last person to fill it did so on an incline, but there was really a lot of fluid pouring out, I'm pretty much drenched right now since I was not expecting it to come out of the fill...

Put all my maintenance records into a spreadsheet..

When I bought my 04 EB, it came with a folder full of maintenance records. Went through them all and put em in a spreadsheet for ease of access, and thought I'd post it here to see if there are any obvious things that I'm missing. Currently is at about 153,500 or so. Couldn't think of much...

    Dangerously Poor Rancho QuickLift Welds

Hey everyone, I recently purchased some Rancho Quicklift struts for my 04 EB, and noticed the welds were terrible. Specifically where the lower strut mount is welded to the strut itself. See below: I was wondering if anyone with some expertise thinks that these welds would be sufficient...

Installing lift kit, but it won't fit!? 2004 Eddie Bauer 4wd

Hey everyone, here's the situation. So I got the Rancho quick lift struts and a 2inch supreme suspension lift kit on top of that for a total of 2.75 inches in the rear and 3 inches in the front more than OEM coilovers. Right now I am working on the front right one, and I cannot for the life of...

    Repurposing Suspension Air Compressor

Been searching online and haven't found much about this topic so I figured I'd start a thread here. I've been doing a lot of research on how to turn my 04 EB into a decent overlanding vehicle, and the plan is eventually to have front and rear lockers. Air lockers are a thought, and even if I...

My Stock EB Expy to Overlanding 4X4 Build

Hey everyone, been lurking these forums for awhile, but now that I finally was able to purchase a family members 04 Eddie bauer I figured I'd make an account. It has 155k miles on it, was primarily used for towing, and in excellent condition. Except for the air suspension which has a leak, but...
