Excellent points about the hitch and I understand those limitations. However, I towed with the Jeep and the same setup (on the same roads) for probably 5,000 miles and had no problems beyond being dog-slow uphill. That's probably why I keep fighting this- it used to work fine and the only...
This seems like an odd one- are there situations where the Ford TSC will actually exacerbate sway?
towing ~4100 lb (loaded) r-pod single axle travel trailer
I bought my 2019 XLT with HD when I changed up my tow vehicle from a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee and to my considerable surprise, towing...
Wrapping is a really good idea- probably more manageable than trying to paint it. Failing that I may just try and replace it. Any idea where I can find that piece?
Check out this photo - my kid left a Banana Boat sunscreen container with cream on the outside in the center console overnight (one night!) and it *dissolved* and discolored the coating- really looks horrible.
1. I might have to re-think my choice of sunscreen brand...
2. Does anyone have...
A fun side note to this, as long as you are in this mode, your vehicle mileage will be counted toward your trailer as well which will muck up your trailer service intervals if you use mileage for maintenance.
Answering the question directly, I got fully stuck this winter in 5" of semi-wet snow with the Hankook OE AT tires... walked home, and drove my Jeep Grand Cherokee (with Cooper Discovery AT4 tires) right in to dig out the Expy with a shovel (your brother would have had a smug look on his face)...
I just set mine up (10 minutes, max) and will concur that the greatest benefit is in backing up straight with a twitchy trailer, it's kind of like black magic. Limitations are with the time to turn on (it initializes, then searches for the sticker with the camera which takes just a bit too much...
I called https://www.motorsport-tech.com/ yesterday and learned that their 3/8" spacer (~10mm) should work fine as-is but that they get returns on the 1/2" spacer for not having enough threads left... that sounds sketchy. At 3/4" and up the spacers all include studs but I need to do the math on...
Hi All!
My setup is a 2019 XLT with HD tow, 4x4 and I recently added load E tires on 18" F-150 wheels.
Camping season is on the horizon and we bought this truck specifically to tow our travel trailer around the mountains of UT. Trailer weight fully loaded is about 4,200, it's single axle so...
@BLUWAGN do you happen to have a pic of the result? I just put F150 wheels on my XLT and although I was prepared for the axel shaft issue, I missed the offset issue (oops). I *think* that 5mm/10mm would work, especially since I put on aggressive tread AT (Toyo Open Country) tires. Also, can...
Close but not perfect- I have a 2019 XLT with the black ActiveX, no heat.
Of course just as I posted this originally, I had need to pile three kids across the 2nd row because the back was full of sleds and it sure was nice to just tip up the seat. In ours the center seat just stays down unless...
