I have a 2011 5.4 3v that’s approaching 180k miles with no indication that it needs a timing job either. I followed FordTechMakuloco‘s advice and switched to 5w 30 full synthetic at about the 90k mileage mark
Yeah I was hoping to go a little more on them but it might be something to consider. But at the same time like I said it runs great. Idles smooth and acceleration hasn’t changed at all so I’m not sure

They are less than $4 at Rock Auto. The Motorcraft air filters are cheaper than anywhere else on Rock Auto too. I order a few of each every time because their shipping is kinda high
