2015 Expedition XLT. Can it actually tow?

You should be fine with that size trailer. I would try to load as much gear as possible in the trailer, above the axles to the extent possible to reduce the payload in the truck.

    2011 4 low wrench

Did you hear any noises when trying to move? Most likely a shift motor but could be the transfer case itself.

    Updating my sloppy suspension

Get a good coil spring compressor and swapping out the shocks using the stock springs is not really tough. Using an impact and the truck on the lift, I can swap all 4 in about 3 hours taking my time. I'd look at sway bar bushings and end links before replacing the stock sway bars. If you tow...

Hello, newb from Philly burbs with a '17 XLT

Congrats and nice rig. If well cared for you should get plenty of life out of it. Retired Army myself and went to grad school to be a teacher... Quickly learned I don't have the patience or passivity needed... Also, used to drive up to Philly from ft. Bragg years ago on long weekends. One of my...

    2015 Ecoboost vacuum line leaking

This charge tube is connected to the intake tube, specifically on the passenger side between the radiator and engine. It is viewable under the hood. It's a very small hard plastic nipple with a rubber vacuum hose running under the engine cover up to the intake manifold.

    2015 Ecoboost vacuum line leaking

I was changing the oil in the Ecoboost today and found a vacuum nipple was broken on the passenger side charge tube. Looks like it goes to the wastegate valve solenoid. Haven't had any real issues other than my daughter reported seeing the CEL flash a few times a couple days ago. I did pull a...

Looking for the name and these parts.

Dash vents? I replaced one on my old f150. Pulled out pretty easy. Should have a part number on the back you can reference.

Vids on YouTube about the 5.4 Triton Make Me Want To Back Out of this Purchase

I'm surprised nobody has yet mentioned not only frequent oil changes with 5w30, but also insist on a quality filter, Motorcraft preferred. These OHC engines need oil up top on startup and a quality filter will have an anti drain back valve, which maintains oil pressure in between starts, where...

How many miles is too many for buying used?

My biggest concern at this mileage would be the timing set. Has it ever been done? If otherwise we'll maintained it could give you many more years of service.

Best RIM Size Selection for Off Road

If you have the ride height adjustable Bilsteins it is almost as much work to pull apart the shock as it is to install a readylift kit. You already have the hardware and won't cost anything but time, unless you are paying someone else to do it. I'd forgo the readylift and just adjust those sweet...

    Oil in Air Filter

With no oil loss noticed, I'd look at pcv. It may be just kinda bummed up some. They can usually be cleaned but they're cheap so worth throwing in a new one.

    Coil and plug recommendations

IME, mod motors and Ecoboost only like Motorcraft plugs. Coils are ok to use Denso or whatever stock replacement is available at the parts store.

Just installed a K&N CAI yesterday so far so good.

Oh brother... On an Ecoboost none the less... Hope you don't take your Expy down many dirt roads... K&n (or any "cold air intake" ) is hell on turbo vanes.

    Where is it leaking?

Timing cover, oil filter adapter, or valve cover? Sure it's not power steering fluid?

    Shock deals?

I'm looking at replacing and upgrading the shocks on my wife's 2015 Expy. Looking at Bilstein, Fox, possibly Rancho. Don't need loaded coils with shocks. Does anyone know of any upcoming deals for Black Friday or Cyber Monday?

    Moab Advice

Airing down is not needed but the vehicle will ride much better and you have less chance of shredding a tire as there is some give... I'd try about 25 psi without beadlocks. Too much lower and you risk popping a bead.

    Moab Advice

Gemini Bridges should be doable, if they haven't closed it. Gotta check out Horseshoe Bend. Try taking the Gemini Bridges road there ( most the way anyway). Try renting a side by side for a day and play on the slick rock. Totally worth it. The Expy won't suffice there. Hell's Revenge is really a...

Looking to make some performance upgrades on a '14

Had a tuner on my '10 f150 years ago. Didn't add a ton of power but the shift strategy was greatly improved. Should be the same drivetrain as the OP's Expy.
