    Towing and fuel economy report

Thanks for the feedback. I’m towing everywhere. Just looped the country, I guess it is what it is, at least I have 8 seats.

    Towing and fuel economy report

Has anyone towed with a tuned expedition. I’m interested to know if it helps with fuel economy? I had to go with the 2022 XLT for more payload. Same axle and trans as my 2021 f150. It has the 380hp, not the 400hp of the limited or f150. My f150 averaged 9.5-10 towing my Airstream, my...

    2022 expedition vibration

I have a 2022 XLT. I have felt the vibration while driving. I chalked it up to the road since it’s been intermittent. I’ll keep my antennas up and pay more attention. I’m currently dealing with a rear right tire that has 1/16” less tread than the other three. The RR toe-in was out of...

Brake controller, Here we go again

I’m towing a 6,600lb Airstream, 7,900 loaded. I set my gain to 9.5 and trailer brake effort to “low” low meaning it takes low effort to engage the trailer brakes. “Talk about over complicating it”! From what I was told, the trailer brake doesn’t engage until you reach 20 or 25mph, it also...

    2022 Expedition XLT tuner

Looking to tune my 2022 XLT for better towing performance and economy. Which tuner has the best overall positive feedback, customer support, etc? I am a Mac guy, are any of these tuners compatible with Mac? Or, do any of these tuners come plug & play not requiring updates from a computer...

    Crossbar additional mounting hole

Keep in mind, the factory roof rails are lighter allowing a few more pounds to be stored in the box. The factory screws are more than adequate, it’s all shear strength which the factory screws provide far more than you would add to the box.

Is anyone having good experiences with 22+?

6k on my 2022 XLT Max, no bulletins, very happy with the ride, sync 4 has the same connection issues with IPhones as my 2019 & 2021 F150’s, mine came loaded with led’s, front sensors, etc. After owning for 3 days and 60 miles. I dumped an entire late on the passenger seat, that’s always good...

    2019 Totaled-looking at 2020 Platinum

So glad to hear everyone is ok! You mention max tow package. One thing to consider and the reason I went with an XLT Max is payload. Payload on my 2022 XLT Max with panoramic is 1,780. Most Platinums we looked at had 1,300-1,500 payload. Pulling close to max tow will put your hitch weight at...

    Calling a CAMPERS

2022 Expy XLT Max (1,780 payload) 2021 Airstream FC 30Bunk (7,900 loaded) 930lb at the hitch. Have 6k miles of towing with the Expy, tows great! My investment went into my hitch, Hensley Arrow. Also check out the ProPride, one of these is a must with the softer suspension.

Towing for 2019 Expedition says 9,300

It just occurred to me you’re talking about a classic. Your 7,900lbs is prior to gear and water, check the gross(outside sticker). Mine is 6,672 empty, gross=8,800, I come in at 7,900 fully loaded. Another 700lbs in payload & occupants, I’m maxed. You’ll be sitting at the 9,500lb range. You’ll...

Towing for 2019 Expedition says 9,300

I pull my 2021 airstream FC 30 Bunk with a 2022 Expedition XLT Max (payload=1,780). I have pulled it from Charleston SC-Key West-Palm Springs (6K miles now). It pulls better/smoother than my 2021 f150XLT. More than enough power, the smoothness is due to the soft independent suspension. I use a...

Same here, 2022 XLT Max, issues with the one touch passenger side. Held it in position until closed. Happened twice about a month ago. Hasn’t happened since.

Anyone tow 8,000 lbs. with their 2021 Expedition FX4 with max towing?

I tow a 30’ Airstream with my 2022 Expy Max. My door sticker shows 1,780 lb. Payload. Trailer is 6,600 empty, 7,900 loaded. Hitch is 950lbs. We are on a 12 month trip around the county. The Expy tows smoother than my F150 XLT. A must have is either a Hensley or ProPride sway elimination...

Brake controller, Here we go again

Well, my new Expedition Max, built 9/22 is experiencing the trailer brake issue that my 2021 F150 had. After two visits to dealers with the F150, being told everything was ship-shape. Ford came out with a recall on the trailer brake controller about three months later. According to Ford, the...

    Crossbar additional mounting hole

Yes, Astro Pneumatic tool. I used stainless rivenuts. Aluminum won’t hold as well, and the roof rails are metal, not aluminum. I didn’t want to risk the chance of galvanic corrosion.

    Crossbar additional mounting hole

I drilled a 23/64 hole and inserted a 6mm rivnut which worked great. This allowed me to use the front oem roof rail position for the rear crossbar hole, and the new rail rivnut hole for the crossbar front mount. I filled the oem rivenut with the plastic insert which you can see to the rear.

    Drilled rotors

Looking for a good set of driller rotors and pads. I’m hearing from others that Power Stops have a tendency to warp. I would like Zimmerman or Brembo, though struggling to find part numbers. Any feedback?
