@FunkyFuzz1833 Sorry for the delayed response, was trying to do more research on the lights you got and what would be required in general.so now its just making the decision on drilling through the grille.. do you remember how easy/hard that process was? any tips if i do end up attempting? i...
@FunkyFuzz1833 it’s been almost a year since this post. I am looking at doing the same thing you have done but am hesitant at drilling through the grille the holes necessary to properly mount the lights like you have. Can you speak to how easy/hard it was to drill through the plastic part of the...
Has anybody gotten an update past 5.1.1 today or this week?
Nothing for me so far.. which is unusual for the established pattern the last month or so..
@maad1618 @jjscsix @Flathead40
Yep. Got that update today. Release notes are vague as can be. Basically just says it makes adjustments to prepare vehicle for exciting upcoming updates. Doesn’t go into any specifics on what adjustments were made or what was actually updated…
Crazy to think that we all went weeks, months...
turned truck on tonight and low and behold the new ui was there to greet me in all its camera button and climate dial goodness..
After months of waiting and on the phone with ford and the dealership, the day finally came!!
Let’s hope it continues with the 5 series updates!
UPDATE*
Soo begrudgingly (because I’m sick) got in my truck and drove it around the city for well over 30 mins.
And then came back home to Wi-Fi and opened my network app where I proceeded to watch it download over 1.50 GB of data. lol.
After the throughput went to 0 I locked it up and...
CRAAAP!!! I haven’t gotten it yet!! But I’ve also been sick and haven’t driven anywhere which I’ve learned you sometimes have to drive for about 30 mins to get the battery charged up before it will initiate an update..
I remote started it this morning to get it to connect to WiFi, but sounds...
@jjscsix @Flathead40 So after talking again with my rep at ford ( he called to check up on me, awww lol) i explained what we three were going through with the latest 4.2.2.1 update and he explained either the update didnt install correctly and needs to be reflashed and installed again, or this...
Yeah, let’s hope! I don’t see anything so far on mine. But when you click on the update complete message- what does it say? Should give you the ford power up update number and some more release notes
yeah I did some research last night and found multiple comments from people on this forum that said they didn’t get any UI or big changes like the camera button until the 4.2.2.2 update.
@jjscsix trust me, i get it, but i dont think it is very much... looks to be mainly just a bug fix update.. i really hope im wrong too tho. lol i asked my contact on their engineer/ OTA team but i think they are fed up with me, just telling me to have it looked at by a dealer if i think i am...
No, youre not alone in that. @Flathead40 and myself both are seeing the exact same UI as far as i can tell.. i even did the sync reset where you hold the volume and seek keys on the steering wheel AND have been driving it over 30 mins ... no changes as far as what it says on the release...
@Flathead40 Same for me as well, i only had enough time to look at it for a few minutes.. hope to look at it tonight... Hopefully we will get that 4.2.2.2 one next with the real changes.. though there is also the updates to the audio/amp and front doors ( for mirrors) /liftgate module i am...
Sooo i just got this same update today as well! i think we both are in the same pool, because i also have been seeing updates about every 10 days.. at least one a week... but my UI is pretty much the exact same thing as it was before.. according to these release notes i should be noticing UI...
Sooo finally got my first update today! Though this happened while I had Fords OTA and engineering team looking at my issues, particularly over my WiFi issues.
I’m happy to report that now that I got this update. Which is labeled as 4.2.1 and only says in release notes that its changes are to...
I understand the frustration completely.
My big issue is that there is like little to no information coming from ford on where we stand with these updates. Like, there is no where you can go to see around what time frame your serial number or vin or what ever they use to push these things out...
Looks like Ford updated their website with some more/new information. Soo they may be already hearing something from People about this… that record feedback feature is gonna be USED in ways they aren’t ready for! Lolololol...
Yeah if anyone deserves some answers, it’s yours. That glitch is crazy! I’m getting to a point of just buying a VCM and FDRS license and doing things myself.. I know mine has updates, I checked FDRS myself once and found them. I even showed them to the dealer and after being surprised non Ford...
Yeah so I’ve noticed it connect to my network under two names both have different MAC addresses as well. Mdm9650-TCU which appears to be the TCU module and “SYNC” which I’m guessing is the APIM?
Now SYNC did exchange some data the like one time it connected, but like a couple KBs which is...
yes please!! please let me/us know what they tell you. my dealer hasnt been much help.. i even showed them a screenshot of fdrs showing some audio and door updates for mine and they still told me to not worry about it and that it all gets installed OTA......... :/ im curious what yours says...
Facts.. Couldn’t agree more.
Took me 2-3 weeks of just waiting for my Dealer to find me a loaner the first time I took it to them, and that’s after the guy told me he put my name at the top of the list. I can’t IMAGINE how long the wait would have been if he hadn’t done that. Months!?
Yes that’s exactly what mine does too! That is interesting then, could very well be a software thing.
Though mine according to my firewall isn’t doing anything, I don’t think it likes how my dhcp is set up or something..
But yeah I’ve heard the same crazy process as well. If you face north...
Yes it is! It’s been on 22277 since I got it and no updates. I actually called Fords OTA team and they told me they didn’t see any updates have ever been sent to my vehicle. Figures…
Yeah you can do it yourself and get an FDRS license and VCM tool, battery maintainer but it’s pretty expensive...
