Hi, I have a 2010 Expedition Limited. been doing quite a bit of research, I’m wanting to install Bilstein 5100’s on it but from what I understand it’s only offered in 2014+ models.

After extensive research, I understand that the 14+ REAR STRUTS will work on my 2010 as they are the same. Fronts wont due to the lower shock mounting point.

Yes I understand the F-150 struts work, (but it’s a different spring rate & it’s much taller.

Can I use a 14+ LOWER CONTROL ARM on my 2010 to utilize the 14 FRONT STRUTS ?

Upper control arms are the same.
Spindles are the same.
Lower control arms are clearly different due to the shock mounting hole.

I figured it’s the easiest way, I can just order 14+ struts and get the lower control arms 14+ and should bolt straight on and retain similar to factory height ride, but with a superior strut assembly over factory.

Let me know if anyone has any experiences or thoughts!!

That's a really good question. As much as I've been under my truck replacing parts, including the LCAs, I never once considered upgrading them to the newer model to get more shock fitment options.

Definitely following this thread to see what comes of it.
