Purchased my 2000 Expy a couple months ago. PO had installed 20s with 275/55/20s on it (effectively 32"s). The tires have a lot of life left, so just planning for the future. I don't really wheel much, but when I'm off-road, I typically air down to around 15psi. The 20s are more for looks than off-road.
So, I was considering the following:
265/70/17s - 31.5" (many options) OR
275/65/18s - 32" (many options)

Just wondering if it makes sense to go from 20s to 18s (or 17s). There are a bunch of tires for my 20s, so replacements aren't too expensive. But the current rims are 6 spoke mirror chrome that look like I should be rolling in Oakland - not really my thing. I have had 17s on Jeep Wranglers and they air down well. Not sure if there's much difference with the 18s.

Thanks

Shoot for more of a 33” tire (whatever size that is). I’d go with 17s. I had 18s on my old 1st gen and took it offroad a lot. Never had any issues but a little more sidewall with the 17s would have been nice.
