Just picked up a new '18 Limited last week. Awesome vehicle and a great find of this forum!

Only issue so far is I can't get a cd to load. I try to put a disc in and nothing happens. Hitting the eject button and trying to change source to cd both show no disc. Looking inside I don't see any discs that may be stuck. With no disc in, I assume it would just auto load and "suck" the disc in when inserting it. Before I take it in, am I missing something?

While I don't really need the cd player w/ the usb option, it's principal. Thanks!

2 things, 1, see if theirs an actual play button, if you keep hitting the eject and nothing pops out, doubtful a new vehicle would, try disconnecting negative from battery, and reconnecting. I've seen a lot of CD issues here that have been resolved by just doing that. Short of that, a reread through owners manual, or a trip back to dealer. I'm sure others here have a fix also.

Thanks for the reply. When trying to change the source to cd, it just says no disc and won't change source to cd. So, can't hit play.

I'll try the disconnect if nothing else. Thanks again.

Reset your system and see if that helps. To reset hold the piwer and ffwd buttons down for ten sec. If not, take it in, mightve been why it was traded in. Should be still under warranty

Thanks, but no luck. Bought it new, so warranty isn't an issue. Hoping someone had a trick or tip to avoid the annoyance of taking it in. I'll probably just wait to see if any other issues arise and have the dealer take care of it all at once.

I had a similar problem. Turned out a wire inside was in the way. Dealer moved the wire and the problem was solved.

Just thought if your trying to play a CD you burned and not store bought, it might not recognize it. Try a store CD if you already haven't.

There not even loading, so I doubt that's the issue. But really even my 2003 Malibu reads burnt cd's.

That's true, my 2000 with the changer reads them. Looks like you'll have to visit the least friendliest place on Earth, the dealer. I'd want to play all my faves, especially on a new vehicle.

My Mustang even reads mp3's burnt on a cd. You can fit a lot of mp3's on one cd. Sadly we haven't even tried the cd player in our 17 Expy.

Thanks for all the replies. I did try store bought vs cd-r, but no luck. Looking inside, looks like same issue as zarga. A thicker, nylon braided type wire seems to be blocking the left side. Tried to lightly move it w/ a screwdriver, but couldn't. Not a lot of room and didn't want to break something or crack the bezel when it's a factory/dealer issue. In it goes, unfortunately.

Wires hanging down seems to be a common-ish problem. When the OP started this thread I thought it sounded familiar but I couldn’t put my finger on why until he posted the solution:

https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?sh...mbest-question-ever-asked.34236/&share_type=t

I know it doesn’t help you now that you went to dealer and had it fixed, but maybe you’ll feel better knowing it’s not just your ride in particular. Someone in the dash assembly section of the line needs to switch back to regular from decaf apparently.

Edit: and I see that Zarga was the lucky first one with this problem and already posted in this thread.
