I’m 2,000 miles into ownership and absolutely loving the new Expedition. However, coming from an Audi SUV with adaptive suspension, I can’t help but want a little more performance out of the ride.

Sway Bars

I’ve emailed Hellwig a few times trying to confirm if their sway bars for the 2024 models will fit the 2025. I haven't received a response yet, but I’ll update everyone here if they ever get back to me.

Performance Shock / Coilover Options

Are there any options outside of Bilstein shocks that fit the 2025? I’m very interested in adjustable coilovers or any street-performance-oriented setups.

A few notes on my driving needs:
  • 99.9% Street Use: I will never take this thing off-roading outside of the occasional class VI road in northern New England.
  • Snow Capability: This is my primary ski trip vehicle, so I want to maintain enough ground clearance to handle heavy snowstorms.
  • Handling: I'm looking for a more "planted" feel, less body roll and sway.

Does sport mode not tighten the ride and handling to an acceptable degree?

Does that stiffen the dampers? I can't find much info on CCD.

I think its better but I keep it in normal for the most part. Is it possible to program stiffer dampers in other drive modes or through aftermarket tuning?

Yes sport mode stiffens the dampers. Unfortunately no, sucks that you cant do. I'd rather have the gliding comfort over the stiff handler.

We previously had an X7 and now a Defender. I know what you mean in wanting more crispness from the handling. I think you can reduce some of the body roll with a stiffer sway bar, but I think you're wasting your time, energy, and emotion trying to make it into something its not. Unless you have money to burn and need a project, in which case have at it and good luck!

Agreed, it does feel like a bit like a fools errand. I test drove both the X7 and Defender, If all things were equal, I would have a P500 Defender in Woolstone Green but due to the amount of long drives I make, BlueCruise won the day.

I will get stiffer sways and better tires in the spring once i'm ready to take the Blizzaks off. Anecdotally, I think the Blizzaks are a stiffer sidewall tire then the stock Michelins.
