2000 expedition with 210k miles, 5.4 triton. Ive only put a 2" spacer lift in the front. So when starting a left u-turn or when coming to a stop, the engine hesitates like as if im about to run out of fuel. It never stalls completely. This begins only once my fuel gauge reads 1/4 tank remaining. Changed fuel filter, not sure whats causing it.

My 1999 has had that exact issue for years, particularly the semi-stall on a left turn when the fuel is getting low. It 'could' be the fuel pump but that's an expensive gamble because I'd have to pay a shop to change it with no guarantee that it would correct the hesitation. My 90% effective fix has been to fill up whenever the gauge shows 1/2 or less.

Knowing someone else gets the mysterious left turn engine stall tells me it's most likely a worn part rather than a lingering possibility it was my ex pouring coke into my tank. well, unless you too have an ex known to do such things.

Another possibility I've heard but can't do anything about is sediment(or coke) building up over time and obstructing flow to the fuel pump when the tank level gets low.
