I’ve read there is NOT one in this vehicle. If so, what filters cabin air? Having a weird funk in the cabin from the vents any help is appreciated

No filter. Lysol might be the best and easiest option, otherwise there are several products that you can spray into the windshield cowl air intake. Open all windows, open hood, turn HVAC fan on high & with A/C off you spray into the intake. Some products work better with the heater on. Do the rear as well.

You can drill a clean out hole in the blower box beneath the glove compartment and spray some evaporator cleaner onto the evaporator and wash out all the crud that builds up on it. That's really the only thing that'll cure the smell. Everything else is just masking it. Spray the cleaner in there and wash it out with a utility sprayer of water. It'll drain out the normal drain and onto the ground. Just cover the clean out hole with black duct tape or a rubber plug when you're done. The actual evaporator is physically located on the far left side of the box.
