Do they turn off when you hit the switch for a period of time? Old co worker had a similar problem and his would shut off when he hit the button but would randomly re activate. I think his issue ended up being in the SJB (smart junction box...aka fuse panel looking thing behind the passenger side kick panel). The SJB essentially replaced the GEM in the later trucks and controls a majority of electrical. I dont have a 3rd gen myself and little experience w them troubleshooting wise outside of audio and remote starts. I'm fairly certain he had a 200o but should be essentially the same electrically speaking
