I'm hoping someone can help me with the problem l'm having. I replaced the radio in my wife's 2008 XLT with an aftermarket Alpine unit. It works great 99% of the time, but every couple weeks or so it doesn't come on when she starts the engine.
Every time I check the fuse in the passenger side kick panel, it's fine. When I put the fuse back in, the radio will come on and work perfect again.
It's done this several times now and every time I pull the fuse, put it back in, and it's fine again. Even though it doesn't blow the fuse, I've replaced it with a new one but it still does the same thing. It's even gone a month or more with no problems and just out of the blue it will happen again.
What is going on here? Is there an issue with the fuse panel itself on these models that's causing this, or something else I’m missing?
Thanks for your help
