I have a 2009 XLT with stock stereo 6 Disk Changer MP3 capable. There is an AUX port in the Center Console, but no USB input.

I found an Aux Port/USB Port input on a Junkyard Explorer. Can this be simply wired into my Expedition?

My goal is to play Music/audio from a USB Flash Drive without having to install an aftermarket unit.20210211_113504.jpg

The USB slot next to the Aux Jack in the 2009 Expedition is just an extension from the back of the stereo. As Gain-Mob said you will need to pull the radio to check and probably run your cable from radio to console.

Thanks. Not looking feasible.

I like those Raptor lights. Can you share the Mesh Grill Brand and light set-up?

Factory grille modified by me. I wanted to hide the radiator as seen through the grill. So I put mesh screen behind the upper and lower grills to hide it. I also made my bracket for my "Raptor" lights out of the same mesh as to blend in to the grill while pushing the lights out. So here's the fun part. The mesh screen is gutter screen from HD. It is black gloss powder coat, and $3.21 a section. Took 4 sections. Lights are smoked lens LED's from Amazon, $10 for 10. And I used waterproof automotive connectors for the wiring, $10 for 10 male/female sets. So here is my $35 mod. And as a side note, you DO NOT need to remove the bumper as mentioned in other threads to remove the grill. Just reach in the release the tabs on the bottom of the grill and smack it with the heel of your fist. Comes right out. Took me 20 minutes. You do have to do this for each tab. And you will need a screwdriver to release the tabs. Here are links to the parts:

Are we looking for a micro usb or similar connector on the back of the stereo for the usb input or does the Ford usb have a standard looking molex connector?

I’d love to find a factory looking USB port that I can charge my phone and separate out the audio signals to splice into the steteo’s Line In or AUX in. I pulled the usb with cable out of a Fusion that had sync.

It will be a plug in on the back of the radio but you may get lucky and theres one already there and if you remove that plate that holds the aux port you may just find the plug is in the are for a usb plug in
