hey, we are looking at a 2014 5.4l limited 110,000 miles at dealership for $21,000
Pearl white, leather seat in clean condition, motor looks normal, no leaks that I can see.

My question is is the 5.4l motor for this year model solid and well built, and is Transmission good for this year model?
Any known problem to look at?
I'll be trading a 2017 fusion in on it and be financing for 60 months, so I need it to be a good one.
Any advice or opinions are helpful, thx

I have had 3 Expys and currently have 2. Love my 2014 EL 5.4. I know some like the EcoBoost but I continually feel like the 2014 w/5.4 is my favorite year for various reasons (which I cant actually say what those are LOL). That price just seems a tad high for 110K to me. I value mine at $21K with 80K miles in perfect shape and I don't have to guess no problems, I know & I know how its been maintained.

at that price it has to have NEW brakes and tires all the way around
and the HD Tow Package (would not buy an Expy without)
and of course 4WD
preferably no rust and no paint bubbling problem (at least not yet, it will eventually)

Plugs should have been replaced by now, you either have to know they were or do them?

Too expensive, last year I almost bought a 14 limited EL 4x4 with 58k miles, dealer asking price was 26 but I got them down to 24 before I accidentally test drove an ecoboost and never looked back. Well, except when I make the payment every month. Ecoboost was 33k but with CPO warranty, and them turbos......

Found a 2014 limited 75,000 miles for 21,200
Are these motors built for long haul 200k and up
All the 5.4l issue fixed in the 2014 model?

I posted this on another thread, but I was looking for the newest EL with the 5.4 I could find as I'm in salt/sand country.
I'm happy with my find...2014 EL black on black Limited with 80,000. Paid $22.5 (asking $26.5)

I have a 2013 limited, 5.4, 2WD. Love it. Just turned 90K. Problem free. Also have a 2006 F150 FX4 5.4. Just turned 164K. Rock solid. Don't think you could go wrong...

Any 5.4 newer than 10 should be as solid as they got, just keep oil change intervals at 5k miles or less run a quality 5w30 synthetic (penzoil pure Plat plus), and use a Motorcraft oem oil filter and you should be fine for the long haul. I would reccomend a 5 star tune since it really wakes up the 5.4 motor and electronic throttle, and gives you the option of overdrive lockout, ODLK (blocking 6th gear) when tow haul mode is engaged. I used that tune (87 octane performance tow ODLK) on my 10 max tow F150 5.4L truck and it was a tow beast.

Well we bought it yesterday, I'll post some good pics of it soon, the dealer put new tires on, total alignment , new battery, new rear brake pads, and the blower module and blower was replaced.
The Vehicle is the best riding vehicle we've ever owned! It's pretty clean to be a 2014. I think it always been garage kept due to not much rain spot damage at all. I ordered weather tech mats for throughout ,
