2016 Shift Indicator cover replacement

Hello everyone. The 2016 Expedition i am purchasing has a big hole next to the shifter. Can i replace this only or need to replace the indicator assembly? Does anyone have the Part numbers? Thanks for all your help.

The black plastic sliding part is not serviced separately. You must replace the gear shift lever assembly.

Got to poking around on interweb and found this..... Item 2 looks like the part i was hoping for. Now to see if Ford will bring one in for me.

Having the part number is half the battle, may find the part in a junk yard, good luck.

Not sure.

A Ford dealer part’s department had previously told me that the black slider was not sold separately (I have a 2015 with the same shifter).

Perhaps Ford added the black slider part to its part’s inventory or I received incorrect information from the part’s employee?

Why does Rock Auto sell the black rubber part if it is not serviceable?

I know a very late follow up to this, but did you find the insert part on rock-auto and could you share link if so? I can't find it for life of me on their site.
I ask because I pulled the console apart a little while back as my 2016 had same issues with cracking cover to see how it worked and it can absolutely be serviced if the slide insert is available. It's quite easy to replace once you've pulled the main bezel/cover assembly out in same way you'd do if your were going to swap the whole assembly as ford suggests is required.

As a test, I replicated the slide cover in CAD and have a working replacement option available that is 3D printed. I'd already ordered the entire assembly and replacement and so did the complete swap, but held onto the old 'broken' one and figured I'd see if it was possible to recreate the part and refurbish the original bezel, and it definately is and the replacement works fine.

Was considering offering them for sale for reasonable price on ebay or something possibly, if there really isn't another official option available asside from buying the entire $100 bezel assembly.

If your replacing the shifter, while you are there replace the shifter indicator bulbs. My 2008 Eddie Bauer has two bulbs and I ordered from MyFordPart.com
