I decided to build a front winch mount/reciever on my 2017 Expedition EL 4X4, turned out pretty good , it doesn’t block the intercooler , it’s tucked in behind the crash bar and it mounts to the tow hook mounts, I’ve ran 1 gauge wire to the right front tow hook mount and to the rear hitch, I’ve got a 12000 pound Harbor Freight winch that works awesome, I’ve used it to pull a Jeep Rubicon out of some deep sand down on river, it was buried to the frame , they were surprised I pulled them out with this winch, I’ve used it for some landscaping, pulling out some old old bushes and stretching fence.66270B86-6AC3-496C-9943-14EFB38D0EA9.jpeg0A5C235A-CD0D-48D9-B863-41B3CFF82F21.jpeg21C0C2F6-9977-4CBF-A2CF-ED162F54DF06.jpegCFBD60E3-1715-41E3-8E95-2B66E043AF2D.jpeg34BB6090-4210-4038-B20B-EF6D388A9288.jpeg

I figured for 300.00 with a coupon, I’d give it a try, I’m very happy with it ! I’ve had for 3 years and it always does the job I need it too !

Nice work. I'm surprised anything from Harbor Freight would do what it's supposed to do. I'm learning every day.
Same here but I also bought a winch from them and it does work pretty good. Everything else I buy from them breaks quickly.

I know this is an old thread but all of a sudden I got the itch to install a hidden winch in my '17 Expy EL Limited. I put one on my 2019 4Runner and loved it. You did a great job on yours but I'm of a mind to pull off the front end to see if there is any way to fab a hidden mount where I could tuck the entire winch behind the OEM front facia - it doesn't look like anyone else has attempted this which is sad because I'm not the greatest fabricator, but I can' help but think there is a way to do this working around the turbo intercooler..
