Started vehicle this morning and immediately had blind spot and cross traffic faults. The driver seat moved back and the steering wheel up as if I had turned the vehicle off but did not. The front windows will not go down but the rear ones will. The AC isn’t working and none of the radio buttons are working.
I’ve found a few other threads and YouTube videos and located the rear bumper sensors and cleaned those and there’s no sign of corrosion on the connectors but that didn’t solve the issue.
Any ideas before I take to the dealer
Did you ever find out the cause of this? I'm experiencing the same thing and Ford has had my truck for 12 days but still can't find the cause. Here is the full story of my saga. Anyone have any ideas? It's a 2020 Expy Max LImited.
Update - they found many software codes (U1xxx, etc.) in 7 modules and simply reprogrammed them. Truck was fine for 4 days - then yesterday, the same issue only worse - at least it happens every time it's started now. When you start the car, it throws the Blind Spot fault and moves the seat back automatically - now it cycles through all the faults and added tire pressure sensor fault as well. No climate control and no radio and no windows or door locks. I now have it at Ford and politely said I won't accept software as the culprit and it has to be a physical issue.
I have this new post to clarify the issue and provide an update. While driving, several faults happen one after the other and it loses power to windows, HVAC, and radio (if radio is already on you can't turn volume up or down or use any of the buttons. )
Here's what occurs:
Drive Control Fault Service Required
Blind Spot System Fault
Cross Traffic Fault
Airbag Light Comes On then will turn off
Memory Recall Not Permitted Message
Radio, Windows, and HVAC randomly lose power (can't turn on or off the radio, can't open the windows and can't control environmentals)
After a minute of losing power, everything comes back on and can roll down windows, etc. Faults will stop then come back on again about 30 seconds later. When using either turn signal during the above symptoms, it blinks fast.
During the above, the vehicle seems to drive just fine as far as accelerating or braking.
And of course, none of the above is happening now that it's at the dealership. Any ideas how to diagnose this myself or try to replicate the above?
It most recently happened when driving on the expressway after 15 minutes so I told them to give that a try. They are fixing my running boards under warranty, which have faulty motor,s but this electrical issue is far more important I think.
Update: I replaced the battery in December 2024 and it tested out just fine. I also reset BMS when replacing the battery back then.
