My wife’s heated seat randomly quit working and I’m about tired of hearing about it. The red lights come on but doesn’t get hot, A/C seat works fine. Passenger still works fine. Haven’t tried the 2nd row bc they both have car seats.

I called a local custom shop and they said they could try and fix it and if not they could just put in an after martet for $250. Although I don’t wanna spend $250 on it, that seemed really cheap. Has anybody had one replaced? I’ve tried to get my dealer to look at it, but they wanna charge me $100 just to tell me what’s wrong even when I already had it in the shop for something else previously.

I can't be sure about your model year, but Gen 3 has the control module for the heated/cooled seats under the passenger seat. Pins in the connector get overheated and fail. you might be able to remove the connector without unbolting the seat assembly from the floor to check it. Sometimes the connector plastic gets "welded" together so you might need a small screwdriver to separate the connector from the module. Ford has a replacement connector kit. How-to video and kit Part # below.

heated seat module connector wire - 12 cavity

Part #: WPT928 (3U2Z14S411ZMB)

Have you checked all the fuses? Some of the indicator lights will illuminate when you turn that accessory on, but a different circuit powers the accessory. Found this out by accident when we used a fuse tap for a dash cam powered off the 20 amp fuse for the heated steering wheel. Carelessly, we reversed the fuses in the tap and the 5 amp fuse for the dash cam was inadvertently installed for the heated steering wheel. When you needed the heated steering on, the dash lights would light up, but no heat as the lower amp fuse was already blown.

Only fuse I could find to check appears fine. Plus the a/c works on both seats and the passenger heated works. Are you suggesting I check every single fuse?

No, I was trying to give you hope that you're not facing a more expensive fix.
Oh ok I was going to say I’m not sure I’m up to check every one I’ve checked the connections under the seat as well and I’m just pretty sure it’s just a Bad element at this point which is unfortunate.
