2022 Limited Max - can’t handle the bumps?

Thanks to this 2-1/2 year old thread, I'm going to adjust my tire pressure. I just bought a new 2024 Expedition Platinum, and while it's beautiful, the ride home was much bumpier than the ride to the dealership, in my 2016 Explorer XLT. I'll go to the doorjamb and see what's recommended, and take 'er for a ride. Thanks for this excellent suggestion!

I leave mine right at 39 and love the ride. The CCD really controls body movement well. A few years ago, I drove my buddy's Escalade with 22s. THAT was harsh.

The last gen wscalades were harsh, but the current gen escalades actually are very pleasant, especially on the highway. Around town, it can feel busy, but mostly it's very isolating and resists bounce very well. I'm hoping ford was able to capture some of that magic with the remodels newish suspension.

I'm sure I've commented before. 22" just don't have enough sidewall. I'm looking forward to putting my 18" winters on in a few weeks, it's like driving on clouds.

Tire pressure is a linear function. For example, if your tire sidewall says "Max PSI 50, Max load 3500lbs," you can draw a line from 0 PSI, 0lbs to 50 PSI, 3500lbs and then plot any point along that line for the optimal pressure for the weight the wheel is carrying. It's probably significantly less than you think it is, regardless of what AAA or the gubmint tells you. (Obvious caveat: ambient temperature and how fast you're driving may change this somewhat.)

Ford should embrace the Sport Bus moniker and offer an Expedition ST with lightweight wheels, upgraded turbos & intercooler, 1-inch drop, stiffer roll bars, adjustable struts, and yellow calipers. I do way more driving on road than I do off, but I have no interest in massive wheels. They make everything nearly everything worse...braking, acceleration, ride quality, rim protection.
