To answer the original question, I'd say it's a decent deal.

I usually try for 15%-20% off MSRP with rebates, discounts, and don't include taxes. I'll give them a few hundred for document fees, but anything more than $400, I start adding to the original amount.

You're in the ballpark.

As a point of reference on fees, Texas has reasonable limits on document fees (capped at $225,) but Florida is ridiculous with no cap.

Ended up finalizing the deal tonight. Dealer held the vehicle for me as long as I needed and didn’t sell it out from underneath me. I feel extremely satisfied with the deal and what I ended up getting for it. Ended up getting $14,368 plus they let me know they could reimburse me for the unused years of my extended warranty I had on my old vehicle. Didn’t even remember I had that on the Explorer which saved me an additional $1k. In total $15,368 off $83,565!

This is worth $0 lol a bunch of issues you don’t want to deal with. The service department of ford sucks as if the problem is not very apparent you will get a “we couldn’t replicate answer” and nothing will be fixed. Stay away.
