Sorry....definitely 4WD
Then the eLSD matters even less. I’ve had 3 (still have 2) Gen 3 4WD non-LSD Expys and all handled snow and other poor road conditions very well - assuming you use good tires.

The 3.5 T/T with HD Tow is a great tow vehicle. I tow 3 different vehicles (3200lb, 3400lb and 4700lbs) with a 20' open Featherlight with no issues. The 3.5's extra power and torque really makes a difference over the previous 5.4 and the fuel mileage is also a great improvement.

One thing I didn't mention, I do have a 20+ year old Mastercraft ski boat that I do pull in and out of water at the ramp each time I use it. When I do this, my 22 yr old son or another family member backs the trailer in while I drive the boat on the trailer. Once it locks into place, I give the signal and the pull up the ramp. For someone unfamiliar with my vehicle and wheels start to give a little, the eLSD might help them feel confident about keeping on the gas not knowing that the computer solved the problem. That's only a few times during the summer so might not be a big deal.

Simply put it in 4WD before backing down the ramp. And make sure you don't get water into the dif.

You won’t have any issue pulling the boat up the ramp. I have a twenty year old 23 foot hurricane and that thing is pretty heavy. Don’t even have to put it tow mode to get up the ramp. These engines have great torque.

The issue is traction if the ramp gets wet and it is a steep ramp. I’ve had it happen when I had to have someone hook a strap to my truck to help pull me. More HP does not help!

Ah ok. I think in 4wd you would be fine. But I’ve not run across anything yet that the truck couldn’t handle. I don’t have the eLSD but haven’t put it through quite that rigorous a test either.

I agree that 4wd is the better solution.

4wd is definitely the answer for pulling boat out of the water. lsd is just 2 wheels in the rear with a lot less weight over them. Not to sound like a dick, but common sense should tell you this much. I have a 23 limited spp 4wd non elsd. I've towed my trailer with my sxs thats about 4,500 total weight through snowy paths and wet sloppy muddy grassy knols in 4wd. Elsd really wouldn't have mattered at all.

My current SSV has ELSD, my 2015 XL did not. I am not sure I have noticed any difference, even though I live very much in the sticks, but I also don't tow anything, so...
