Hello,

Been looking at Sway Bar Upgrade for my 24 SPP.

When I started the research on this, I couldn't find if the sway bar was upgraded or not on the SPP.
And IF the Hellwig would be Better ;)

From Ford Parts I found this for my VIN.

Part #NL1Z5A772A (This is one listed for my VIN)
Weight: 10.4 lbs
Anti Swaybar. FPV SPORTS Suspension.
With Heavy Duty Suspension or Rough Road Suspension.
  • 01/18/2022 - 12/11/2024, Expedition (U553), With Rough Road Suspension
  • 01/18/2022 - 12/11/2024, Expedition (U553), With Heavy Duty Suspension
  • 01/18/2022 - 12/11/2024, Expedition (U553), FPV SPORTS SUSPENSION

But if I search a normal Limited. I see this part number also.

Part #JL1Z5A772A
Weight: 9.5 lbs
Anti Swaybar. Suspension Road Previewith CCD Suspn.
With Sports Tuned Suspension or Standard Suspension.
  • 01/18/2022 - 12/11/2024, Expedition (U553), With Sports Tuned Suspension
  • 01/18/2022 - 12/11/2024, Expedition (U553), With Standard Suspension
  • 01/18/2022 - 12/11/2024, Expedition (U553), Suspension Road Preview/CCD Suspn

So, with that, I tried to find them on ebay or more details on the SIZE of the bar, but could not find much.

If anyone knows if the "Hellwig 7688 7/8" " is bigger than the NL1, please let me know. I need to get under the Expy and measure ;)

Thanks!

I installed a Hellwig on the rear of my 2017 Limited EL. It made a huge difference in corning and curves.
Two different suspension set ups. The front bar is a beefy piece. I have CCD and am able to throw into curves a bunch harder than the KR. I'm not autoX with it but I'm more than satisfied with it and didn't feel that swapping the sway bar was worth it. If I could find one. But......ymmv

I have a 24 limited max with ccd and my stock rear is the same thickness at the hellwig. Shouldn't the hellwig be thicker or is it just stiffer some how?

Hey all, one of the things Ford does is change how hollow the bars are but the OD thickness is in many cases stays the same.

See below, this is a pic of a rear Navigator sway bar and at the top of the pink sticker it says it’s 20mm thick. The unknown is how hollow or what metal it’s made out of. For the fronts of Expeditions and F150’s, there’s up to 4x bars and the last letter is the only thing that identifies the difference. This is a B bar so it’s a little stiffer. A is usually the softest and most hollow with some vehicles going up to the letter D and in many cases with AB, AC in between but the OD diameter is the same.

This. Thickness is not telling. Internal makeup, and the stiffness of the actual metal composition matters more. Most replacements will be the same OD as stock, to fit in the same location with the same clearances.
