Surprised no one is talking about this one. Ever since putting the Tremor wheels and beefier tires on my Expedition I'd considered grabbing a few things and making my own Tremor edition, but now Ford is doing it. Interesting stuff.

The revamped suspension with small lift is interesting, though they say it's to fit the bigger tires but the Tremor tires aren't much bigger than stock and many of us have put 33's on our trucks with no problem. It doesn't say if it uses the CCD suspension and I wonder if the parts would work on earlier models. Might provide some more lift opportunities all around though.

I think the most interesting part is the split tailgate like I had on my old Land Cruiser. Even though there are some obvious drawbacks, especially trying to get something out of the back that is slid further toward the front, I absolutely loved it. It made an excellent camp table, and seat and was just handy all around. I think the split tailgate was what I really missed giving up when I got rid of it because there's little else out there that has it. Really surprised to see Ford put in the R&D to add that.

If I were here, you would know it !
Looks nice, just wondering how many arms, legs, left testicles/mammaries, kidneys, and 1st borne childs it's gonna cost though.. I predict a starting price of at least $100k, given how things are nowadays (inflation, price gouging, labor rates etc) :D

Based on the specs I saw it looks like a re-named Timberline, but with cheaper skid plates. Same size wheels and tires, same engine, same leveling in the front. Again, just a name change because Ford figures matching the names between the F150 and Expedition is good, which I agree.

My guess would be a big fat NO. Ford doesn’t sell that many Expeditions, and way less Timberlines (rarely see them), so there seems to be little demand for these. If they could sell a bunch I’m sure they would be happy to make them.

That was in my sarcastic voice.

I probably would have bought a Tremor in 2019 instead of the Platinum heavy tow I ended up with. But living with the Platinum stock 22’s with the BFG Trail Terrain tires I love this thing. Drives up to our cabin on the 2lane highway excellent handling. Fantastic mileage, comfortable etc. Drags our 29ft nearly 9000lb boat pretty well (its no F250) but the few times a yr I pull permits and drag the boat it does it with no issues.

Dirt roads the BFGs have been great I decided to keep the 22’s. For my uses the Tremor wouldn’t have been as enjoyable.

I think these trucks are way under rated by the auto mag guys. Some of my neighbors have picked up the Ex since I got mine. Everyone has been really pleased with it.

The new split rear tailgate definitely a win!! I really miss that feature my Landcruiser had it. Adds rigidity to the back of the body as its a structural aspect. The floating hatches offer no structural characteristics.

Best part your crap doesn’t fall out every time you open the rear hatch. Oh and the instant work bench or seat available even with the rear loaded full of gear.

Did they give you an estimate on when they will start building 2025s?
No, but read in Ford Authority estimated production start is 1/6/25. Other periodicals have said “early January”. Ford’s order confirmation said they would be in touch in about 45 days with production schedule information. Now, that may just be a standardized email order confirmation response. If true, they would be in touch with me mid-December with production/schedule info which is consistent with a 1/6/25 or early January start.

And, that kinda makes sense.

I think the Kentucky Truck Plant, where Expeditions and Navigators are assembled, is still building 2024s. Dealers are still waiting for orders for 2024s to be filled. And, the plant will probably be shut down a few days around Christmas/New Years.

It will take some time to switch the body shop and assembly line over to 2025s. Then, they'll probably run the line for a few days before they release 2025s to shipping. That assumes that the suppliers are ready with interior and trim parts. I'd be surprised if 2025s make it to dealers before March.

Doesnt seem like it. Ford had to have known that consumers wanted the Timberline in max form so idk why they didn't include the tremor as max option. They can't blame the size because the f150 tremor is bigger still.

Thanks. I reluctantly need to replace my 2021 Exp Max as it doesn't have the HD towing option. The Tremor looked like a great option (despite all the electronics up front). Now to decide on a 2024 or 2025 Max.

Someone on the Expedition PD team needs to take a smart pill. As I've said more than a few times on this forum, no one ever buys a long one and ends up wishing it was shorter. Though plenty buy short ones and wish they were longer. As a customer who uses my Expedition primarily for hunting....The 10 extra inches between the back of the 2nd row and the lift gate is the difference between long guns fitting in a gun box drawer, and not. Also the difference between fitting a 4x8 sheet of anything behind the first row console, and not. It's also the difference between having luggage space inside with the 3rd row deployed, and not.

The premium received is worth whatever minor component investment needed to provide a Tremor Max. The ROI for the handful of unique MAX Tremor parts is probably 400%.

And another thing, where is the adjustable Air Suspension that Ford developed on SUV's 30 years ago and offered on Gen 1 and Gen 2 that Jeep and GM are finally offering now...20 years after Ford dropped it??

Best Off road Expeditions I ever had were the Gen 2's, even though they were too short. Being able to grab a couple of inches of ground clearance by flipping the switch to 4L, was priceless. Just saying....

Your guess is as good as mine. Ford and lincolns suvs are the only ones in their respective classes that don't offer any type of air suspension. Do I think they made the ride better, of course, but its still a huge oversight especially since as you mentioned, ford pioneered this feature in the class to begin with. It would've been perfect icw the split tailgate.

I am not sure an Expedition MAX Tremor would be a good idea because it would be too much of a butt dragger? As far as utility goes no argument there. Why not just modify a Max with a small lift and add skid plates?
