If you don't want to buy the wiring diagram, take a test light to it and find what's hot when the headlight is on and find your negative. I have a 2024 book, but you really don't know if 2025 would be the same...

Since the both sides of the circuit are fed by electronics in the body control module, I'm not sure I would feed a relay coil directly from the module. A relay could produce quite a backsurge when it's deactivated that could backfeed into the electronics. I believe some protection can be had by using a diode in series with the coil.

What are you figuring on connecting? Some sort of light bar?

The game plan is to wire a relay to run the factory fog lights. I purchased the OEM fog assembly and tremor trim kits for the lower valance. This way when the headlights turn on fog lights activate. Such a clean look. I’ll do a rite up ice completed!

Also I love your idea on the trigger light what a brilliant idea and couldn’t believe I didn’t think of this haha! Bless you man! Thanks for the reply!

Have a Merry Christmas!

Following for reasons.

What about using a multimeter? Have a helper flip lights on and off inside and watch your volts

the other thing that sends this for a loop, which didn't make much sense to me but a Ford tech at a dealer recently told me that a lot of modern cars are now using constant +12V in circuits and switching the ground. I have no idea if this is true, at least in my case I've been able to find a lot of switched +12V no problem. but might be something to watch out for, even though maybe he was just trying to scare me away from doing my own wiring, lol.

this is completely the opposite of where the industry has been forever, but we know they love making things harder. That's the kind of thing I would expect in an older Mercedes, lol. God I hated automating door locks in older German cars...
