2025 Expedition Platinum OEM Fog Light Install — Step-By-Step Guide

Parts & Hardware

  1. Accessory Connector (2024–2026 F-150, Plug & Play, 16-pin w/ 2 pigtails)
  2. Morimoto HD Relay: 9005/9006/9012/H10 (modified for install)
  3. OEM Ford parts:
    • JX7Z-15200-A
    • JX7Z-15201-A
    • SL1Z-15A245
    • SL1Z-15A246
INSTALLATION PROCESS

Step 1 — Remove the Front Bumper
  1. Remove all 10mm bolts, pop rivets, and smaller fasteners holding the bumper.
  2. Take your time—don’t rush. There are a lot of hidden clips.
  3. Once loose, disconnect the front sensor harness to fully free the bumper.
  4. Set the bumper aside carefully.
Step 2 — Remove Lower Components
  1. Remove the black lower wind deflector.
  2. Remove the black bracing behind the bumper ends (only the side portions).
  3. Keep track of bolts; you’ll need every one later.
Step 3 — Modify the 16-Pin Connector
  1. Move the red pigtail → socket #11
  2. Keep the black pigtail → socket #1
    • This makes the fog lights activate when the headlights turn on.
  3. Attach the relay so the lights trigger from the headlight circuit but pull power from the battery.
Step 4 — Wire Harness & Routing
  1. Connect the relay and harness to the passenger-side headlight connector.
  2. Plug it all back into the headlight assembly.
  3. Route the harness across the lower crash bar and near the transmission cooler.
  4. Secure everything with zip ties so nothing rubs or moves.
Step 5 — Prepare Fog Light Openings
  1. Pull up the left and right bumper ends near the wheels to access the vents.
  2. Wedge something (wood block, trim tool, etc.) to hold the bumper up if needed.
  3. Remove the factory vent covers.
  4. Install the Tremor lower vent panels in their place.
Step 6 — Prep & Install the Fog Lights
  1. Trim the alignment tab on each fog light so the H10 connector fits.
    • Go slow with a razor blade.
  2. Slightly bend connector pins outward for better fitment.
  3. Connect the H10 plug in reverse polarity (upside-down).
  4. Tape the connection to secure it.
Step 7 — Function Test (Before Reassembly)
  1. Position the bumper close but don’t mount yet.
  2. On the touchscreen:
    • Turn AUTO off
    • Switch headlights to ON
  3. Confirm both fog lights power on.
  4. Check relay click + battery draw connection.
Step 8 — Final Reassembly
  1. Reconnect sensor harness — lock the gray securing bar.
  2. Reinstall bumper and all bolts in reverse order.
  3. Confirm clips, wires, and sensors are secured.
  4. Clean fingerprints/oil off the bumper.
Done! Enjoy Your OEM Fog Lights

Here is my original text before I ran it through AI!

Hey guys! Just finished up installing oem Foglight on my 2025 Platinum.

Here’s what you need.

2024-2026 F150 PLUG & PLAY HEADLIGHT ACCESSORY CONNECTOR. This is a 16 pin connector with 2 pig-tales for a relay.

Morimoto HD Relay: 9005-9006-9012-H10. This is used and modified for the harness for the installation.

JX7Z 15200 A

JX7Z 15201 A

SL1Z 15A245

SL1Z 15A246

These are the 4 OEM Ford Parts needed and what it cost me at the dealership.

Installation is a huge pain.

First remove the number.are anoint of 10mm bolts and several smaller bolts and pop rivets, take your time here! Speed is not your friend,

Once number is removed disconnect the sensor harness to fully remove the bumper.

Remove the black lower wind deflector

Remove the black bracing behind the number on the ends only. See pictures.

Modify the 16 pin connector by removing the red pig-tale and connect it to the socket number 11 and keep the black on socket number one what this allows for is when the headlights come on the fog lights come on at the same time.

What’s nice about a relay is it will allow the light just to be triggered on and pull power directly from the battery.

You will connect all this to the passenger side headlight harness. Then connect it back into the headlight. Big bang boom!

Run your wire harness cross the front lower crash bar. And between the transmission cooler, i used zip ties to hold it all in place.

Now back to the bumper. You need to pull the left and right sides up see the our tires. I wedged wood in there to allow access to remove the vent covers. Once vent covers are removed install the tremor lower vent covers.

Once both installed re install all the bolts and verify connections from all the sensors, verify the white clips are secured.

Install bot fog lights, before installing you need to cut the alignment plastic pice off the middle of each Foglight. Take your time use a razor blade! Make sure it all gone. Then slightly bend the pins outward to allow for the H10 connector to plug into the back of the fog lights.

Please make sure you connect the H10 connector in a reverse polarity. This means upside down.

Place the bumper closer to the SUV and allow to test the function of the lights. From the touch screen turn off AUTO and just to ON and verify both fog lights are functioning. I made sure to electrical tape the connection to verify they don’t come off.

Reconnect the bumper sensors connector back to the SUV and be sure it’s clipped in with the Gray Bar Holding it in place.

Reconnect and align the bumper to the SUV. Re install all bolts and you’re done! Oh and Clean the oils from your hands off the bumper.

Enjoy your OEM Fog-lights!

If anyone wants a fully custom kit I’m happy to send one out including wiring harness (including modifications to the harness) 2 OEM fog lights, 2 Tremor lower Foglight bezels, and 6 mounting screws. All parts are Ford OEM parts (except the wiring harness.) just message me and I’ll get you a price.

Do you have a part number for the or where to get the accessory connector for the 2024-2026 F-150?

Thanks, Corey

It’s a huge pain to modify. I’d recommend building one yourself with just a standard 16 pin ford connector with both male and female connectors. You could pry do it for cheaper.

Awesome! Too bad the stock fogs put out minimal light. Wonder if this method could be used to mount BD S2 pros? I have those on my raptor truck and they basically double the light output with the headlights. Not SAE, but I’ve never been questioned by the man.

Man I’d love an upgrade light there would need to be a custom bracket but I’m sure it could be modded!

Awesome write up, I'll be doing this soon as well as curious about using non factory Tremor fog lamps, maybe instead some high output spot lights.

Totally doable, you would just need to mock up a harness to mount, there is limiter room in there to make it work. Light output is very medium with the factory lights. Looks cool! Haha!

With this application on the wiring it can be installed in the grill. and will come on directly when your headlights come on. You won't have independent functionality unless you drill into your firewall and run wires for the switch. This application is cleaner in my opinion.
