Curious if anyone has tried to remove the 2nd row seats in a 5th Gen yet. I've found posts about being able to do it up until roughly the '20 model year and after that all sorts of things going haywire with the air bag system but nothing on the 5th Gen.

Currently have an '18 F-350 and love being able to fold the back seat up and having a flat surface for the dogs (85 and 100lbs labs) right behind the driver and passenger seats. Hoping to be able to recreate the same basic thing in a '25 Tremor Expedition. The only people that ride in the back seat of any of our vehicles are our dogs, so no concerns about not having a place for other people to sit, much more about cargo room and not wasting that space with folded up seats I'll never use. I'd look into removing the 3rd row as well but the 2nd row is the higher priority as it keeps the dogs close to us.

Not sure how much this will apply to '25 but I was able to get it to work ok for me on '24 (though not full row, but concept probably will with exception of maybe tucking away the middle hardware/wires).

The first time i disconnected the 2nd row seats in my 2024...when i reconnected the battery and turned it on...the whole digital dash display was black. I took it to an auto electrician and they cleared the codes (and reconnected the seats) and said the seats couldn't be disconnected without disarming the airbag system. What worked.... was ordering replacement seatbelt receptacles and the wire harness that they plug into to plug into the the same spot after you unplug the seats. It cost about $500 for 2nd and 3rd row seats...but there are no errors and the space it opened up is amazing!

Sounds like the Ford “Matrix”. They tricked it to “think” the seats are connected, however nothing is there……
Seemingly, all these electronics need a load to send back to the computer in order to function as intended.
