ABS pulse no locking

My 2006 2wd 5.4 expy is pulsing the brake pedal randomly at times when my wheels have plenty of grip it's activated for no reason and at times it has caused by brakes to be less applying to my input causing me to not be able to apply the brakes harder which kinda was a scary situation how much does something like this take to fix is it just a dirty ABS sensor on the wheel and if so does anyone think that could be my issue IDK a wire brush gunna help

Hard to say what the cause might be, but a high end OBDII scanner will almost certainly tell you. That's the best place to start. Otherwise you'll just be throwing money at the problem hoping to fix it.

That said my first thought was, how long has it been since the brake fluid has been flushed and bled. The small particles that collect in brake fluid turning it from nearly clear to black are from moisture absorption. These particles can, I'm told, plug up the ABS solenoids. How likely is that, well I question it since so few people actually ever change their brake fluid. It's fairly easy and low cost maintenance and I do know from experience that fresh brake fluid improves brake pressure and feed back. I change it in my vehicles every 2-3 years depending on how much it's driven and how discolored it is.
