Ford offers an add-on Keyless Entry Keypad for 2023-2025. It's Part # SK4Z14A626A. Completely wireless.

The listing says it's "Not for Police Vehicles," though the catalogue says it's comparable with my VIN, though this is an SSV police vehicle.

Anyone know what this is about? Will the vehicle not accept it, or are they only worried about the perhaps lack of security due to a radio controlled device?

Just a guess... but the SSV package may not have the proper wiring connections to complete the install. The wiring looms are usually the limiting factors.

Trial and error… try it and hopefully it works. If not, bring it back. You never know. A week ago I swapped a ABS module in a truck that was called to help on fixing. Everyone told me it will not work, as it had a different part number / model year and other weird reasons which didn’t make any sense to me. I put that module in anyway and it DID work fine as kind. Go figure.

If this this stick-on keypad is wireless, and it is, then having the proper wiring connections is not a factor.

The description of this device says "Requires Dealer Installation to allow programming via Service Tool (FDRS)". That tells me that there may be something in the configuration of the modules on the SSVs that keeps this device from working on those vehicles. IOW, the SSVs may not have the logic to allow for remote locking/unlocking with the stick-on keypad. Can the SSVs be locked/unlocked using the key fob?

I'm guessing a liability thing. Easier for someone to get in and grab guns if it's on a police vehicle, so Ford says it's not for them to keep from getting sued.

Wow thanks for posting this! I didn't know this existed. Hopefully it works on models that included the original touch keypad on the door pillar. The touch keypad is total junk compared to the one I had on my 2022 F-150. The F-150 had actual buttons that clicked when you pushed them. The touch keypad on my 2023 Expo takes some getting used to and still it fails at least 50% of the time. Usually it fails in the rain or when the car is dirty and it is hard to see in bright sun. Out of frustration I use the app most of the time when I can and just open the door as I am walking toward the Expo. This is also frustrating because the app takes between 5 seconds and sometimes up to 30 seconds or even fails. (No I don't want to carry that huge heavy fob in my pocket, so it stays in the console)

Thanks for the part number. I just bought one off of ebay, so I will let you know.
If it doesn't work, I can use it on my Bronco.

@bb37: My 2023 SSV can be locked/unlocked using the buttons on the fold-out key. The ignition has a regular key switch.
@JimW: Good luck. Let me know how it goes.

This thing communicated with the Radio Transceiver Module (RTM).
Let me know if you think Forscan is up to the task of programming.

Here are the installation and programming instructions:

And some other frequency information:

Note that when the battery inside the $150 Keypad dies you scrape the keypad off the door and chuck it in the garbage and start over.

$150 + $56 installation (for them programming it via FDRS) + 8.25% tax is about $220. You can see some snap tabs under the edges of it in one of the pictures I saw. I wonder if you can replace the battery as long as you can get it apart without destroying it.
