So, I read a couple threads about adding parking sensors to a trim level that doesn’t have them. Budget a$$ ford why would they put em in back and not front. Here’s what I gathered through annoying some contacts and research

-2 outside (opposite side) sensors are on the lower corner painted pieces that hold the fog light assemblies. It’s the same on all trims too and already painted so cutting the holes myself to insert the sensors will be easy.
-the other 2 inside sensors are located on opposite sides of a small lowe bumper piece that sits between the front tow hooks. It’s black/grey on all vehicles regardless of trim so buying one with holes seems like a waste
- I need a new $100 ish dollar harness that supports park assist. There’s a third harness option but it’s to enable park assist.
- the bcm is the same part for my vin as an xlt model vin that is factory front sensors already installed. That feeds the monitor so hopefully programming won’t be an issue and I can control it on my screen
- only remaining part that I can see impacting anything as far as ensuring the sensors work is the parking control module. My search shows there’s two
With the more expensive $800 vs $25 one being different because it supports the hd trailer towing braking package. Trailer package is a separate package from the special edition so I assume the Cheaper is in my current xlt and will be the right one.

Anyone research this and got any info to steer me in the correct course if I’m off

I can tell you that at some point, you will need to make some FORScan changes to the IPMA.

706-02-01 --XX ---- ----

These two values in particular I think are relevant to what you want to accomplish. My truck has sensors front, rear and on the side for park assist, so the values on my truck there show 12 channel for what I assume are the 12 sensors. If this is correct, your truck would have config there indicating 4 channels which would need to be changed to 8 channels once you add the sensors.

I am theorizing here, so if I am wrong, someone please chime in and correct me.

**** I need a clinic on this shit, for scan is like alien language. Ford parts guys verified that the bcm is the same on xlt, but couldn’t help me verify what harness I need to ensure I have no open sensors. Also indicated that my xlt may not have a parking control module which the harness plugs into and then the parking control module goes to the wiring harness that connects to the bcm. Getting discouraged

Yes, but you're not going to like the price.

I have one of these on my truck for dual purposes. Naviks may have something cheaper you can use since all you want to do is integrate one camera. In my case, I did this to integrate a wireless camera that I put behind my boat while towing so I can see what is behind me, but you can add up to 4 cameras with this device. It also has an HDMI port, so you can run an HDMI cable from it to where ever you like and when you plug your phone into it, you can mirror your phone's video/audio onto the factory screen and sound system. All you do is hold a button on your steering wheel for a second to switch from the Sync screen to the module and hold the same button to switch back.

There may be other option, but this is the one I know.

Anyone hear a seasoned vet at finding parts online. I have my vin and a vin for an xlt that contains the special edition package (which includes the front park sensors) but live parts guys at dealership have been absolutely useless and the websites like lakelandford lists too many conflicting part numbers

I can try. Send me the VIN of the truck with the front sensors.
