2018 max limited 4x4. After noticing drips on the garage, i discovered right front strut is leaking. While looking for a replacement I learned I have CCD on my vehicle. With the ridiculous cost of replacing, ive looked into aftermarket options. Found ORR makes an override module. ICON has a full kit way out of my price range. Been looking at bilsteins. My question is...

Can I put bisteins in the stock springs of CCD suspension? Or is the CCD setup like a coilover where its all integrated? If I want to run bilsteins will I have to buy oem components for a non-CCD suspension or can I pull out the ccd strut and swap with a bilstein?

Hope that makes sense

Having just replaced my CCD shocks, I also replaced front ball joints and upper control arms. I replaced with all FoMoCo items so it’s not a solid answer to your question.

A few threads about your question are out there, just need to seek and search.

The physical bolt on of non CCD shocks shouldn’t be the issue, the module from Off Road Reaearch I believe disables the drive modes.

I’m not sure if that means it also disables the throttle sensitivity mapping or just the firmness/softness of the shocks. Good question for those who have done it, or ORR can give you that info.

I did the swap to new CCD components myself, and wasn’t too difficult. The rear being slightly more frustrating with the lower shock bolt torque (406 ftlbs) and lack of a torque wrench that can do that.

All 4 shocks, 2 front lower and 2 upper control arm + ball joints and new outer tie rod ends were $1500 shipped from Rock Auto.

Does the new CCD front suspension Come as all one unit like a coilover with a spring and everything attached , or is it just a strut that you replace inside the original factory parts? I hope that question makes sense.

It’s just the shock by itself. You have to swap your existing springs over.
