I upgraded my 05 expo’s 110 amp to 135 from rockauto. 150 for a brand new one. 1-1/2 later still kicking. Any Napa one I’ve used have died every year. Might just be my bad luck. But I won’t buy another reman starter or alternator again. With all loads on at idle 13.5 volts is acceptable. Low. But still charging. Battery should not die in 10 minutes. Get a Interstate mtp- hd battery. Worth it. And will last 7+ years.

With the new alternator from Rockatuto, I'm now seeing 14.3V at the battery, much better.

I haven't tested yet how this affects my ignition on engine off time with the current battery after some regular use without a bench charge but a bigger battery is definitely next if it's still not great. Will look into AGM. I know they can handle deep discharges better.

Thanks all!

I have an 04 Expy 4wd, Eddie Bauer, 5.4L and what I believe must be factory installed navigation system; it is integrated with the factory radio etc. etc.. When I checked with the VIN at Ford parts dept. the alternator called for is not 135 amp but 110 amp. What's up?

400$ for a battery. No thanks. It’s 140 (220 retail or so) my cost for a tested 1100CA mtpHD-65 interstate. That will last 6-7 years. I’ve never even herd of a north star. And a warranty coverage at most any repair shop with interstate.
