The one I posted from my 2008 (7L1Z-7E063-AC) goes nowhere near the sway bar. It goes right behind the middle cross member under the front door that supports the transmission. The two bolts on the flat part bolt to that crossmember, which is right behind the exhaust crossover pipe.

That's right Black... it makes no sense at all. It's nowhere near the sway bar. The only thing it shares in common with the sway bar is that they are both under the truck.

Here's the transfer case skid plate for my 2008:

7L1Z-7E063-AC -- Ford's book says it fits builds 08/2007 - 08/2014. About $60.

This was one hard part number to find. Good luck finding one for a later model. Note that it mounts onto the outside sides of the frame rails.

There's a FL1Z-7E063-B but I can't find an accurate picture of it.

EL, shortie, or both?

Was there any resolution to finding the '15-'17 transfer case skid plate? I'm installing the RCI engine plate now, but I'd like to find something for the transfer case area behind that. I've got a '15 4x4.
