Does anyone know how to disable the auto fold side mirrors on a 2025 expedition? Tried to do what the owner’s manual says but that option is not on my screen.

What trim/package do you have? Any chance you have the base model Active? Because (at least on the 2026), they are not equipped on that trim.

That goes to my other issue. I cannot get my approach lighting to work. The puddle lamps will not work if the mirrors are folded

I don't think the lights are supposed to work when they are folded. No reason for them to come on. Once they swing out, is when the lights will come on.
Why do you need them to light up while folded ?

I don’t want to light when folded. Which is why I want to disable the auto fold. The owner’s manual tells you how to disable on the settings menu, but the disable option doesn’t show in my system. That is also why I am trying to enable approach lights

You may have to reset the sync system. Video's on u tube can show you how.
Or if all else fails, forscan knows all.

I have the same problem, I took it back to the dealer and the salesman told me some models don't have the option to disable. I disagree. I live in oregon and park outside it rains and freezes often in the winter. They will freeze shut then get damaged trying to open frozen.

So after a day and a half at the dealership this is what I learned. The folding mirrors are a software issue that Ford is aware of and they are supposedly working on a solution. The spligate proximity opening is another software issue that they are working on. Supposedly my King Ranch does not have the approach lighting which I believe it does. Ford pushed out a product that is half baked. Hopefully the solutions will be pushed out in software updates in the 1st quarter as I was told

Nice to hear the split gate open on approach is a known issue. I tried calling / chatting / emailing Ford multiple times and they just gave a BS call center answer that said go see your dealer

If it’s like the issues I’m having with my 2024 Expedition with 8000 miles - get used to the BS coming from Ford. My issue was supposed to be fixed with an “over the air” (OTA) push in Dec 2024, Jan 2025, July 2025, Oct 2025 and now (nothing has been repaired) we are looking at Mar of 2026. I spoke to a buffoon with Ford (not so much) Customer Service and was told…wait for it - - “you need to get a second opinion”, I kid you not this customer service “adviser” actually told me to get a second opinion. I calmly asked her if I needed to take my Expo to a brain surgeon, or should she follow her own advice and see a brain surgeon.
No, I’m not impressed with FoMoCo but based on my research, GM and Chrysler are no better.
Good luck with your issue my friend. Also, check into your states Lemon Law.
