Thank you for your help. I’m takin it out of town on Sunday and hoping it doesn’t come up again. It’s been fine the whole week, just don’t want to speak too soon. Hope you’re right :)

Just spoke to my transmission shop, and because of the symptoms, he recommended taking it in for a reflash under TSB-09-15-8. He said it was specific to the 09 Expedition. I am about to call.

Does anyone know about reflashing the transmission, etc, the cost, and if that was effective?

I actually haven’t had that downshift clunk in a while, seemed to subside.

We had an '09 Limited that would didn't throw any trans related codes, but would hard down shift into 4th. I drive a lot between Seattle and Sacramento, so this was especially bad coming through the pass into California. We had the trans re-flashed under the TSB, and the problem lessened.

I'm of the opinion that when a TSB exists for a software update, it's usually worth doing.

Most TSB's in general are worth doing

When I worked at a L/M dealer, when it got slow we would search all the vehicles in the lot for outstanding TSB's and do them to keep us working

What was the cost of the update? They said they charge $110 so they can diagnose “themselves” then would put the $110 toward the fix.

    I have no idea

We did TSB's as warranty work on vehicles in the lot if that's what you are asking and this was back in the mid '80s timeframe

I am not talking about this specific update I am talking about TSB's in general

Ok so I took it in for the reflash 3 weeks ago. Since that time, I have had the same code, and now a new one. Calling ford tomorrow bec I feel like they may not have programmed it correctly? Can someone tell me what this now means please?

    P260f, P0100, & P0101 are the newest codes

P0741 is why I sent it there for the TSB[IMG]

Oh, and I also feel like I hear some kind of buzzing sound upon start up, or at a stop, sometimes now. Don’t remember hearing that before sending it in.
