New to wife 2024 Expedition Max Platinum with captain's chairs. Pretty much brand new as it only had 12K on the odometer. Wife is happy but now we need to give it the basics. Have kids and dogs, so priority 1 is all weather floor mats that have as much coverage as possible. Considering taking it to an upholstery shop and just having them to a carpet delete but if I can find some floor mats that are close enough to that, I'll be happy with it. It came with some cheap poorly fitting ones but they move around and the front passenger side doesn't ride up the front wall sodirt easily falls behind and under the floormat undermining its utility.

If you've got a good set that you're happy with, would appreciate a photo so I can see the fitment and a link to the product.

TIA!
Ps. Yes I used the search before I posted this

You have Weather Tech....the most expensive. There's Husky, about 1/3 less than WT. A new company called Oedro, about 1/2 of WT.
All are made with thermoplastic and all cover the entire floor/cargo areas.
Probably a few more out there also....

Looked at the WTs on their website. Hard to tell how well they fit though. I realize they are laser scanned so they "fit perfectly" but what I've found with several brands of all weather floor mats, both OEM and aftermarket, is that they have pretty glaring sections on the sidewall that they should have covered but for whatever reason (cost probably) didn't.

Case in point, whatever brand came with mine (probably cheap Amazon ones) technically they fit perfectly. They are form fit to the contours of the floor where it meets the sidewalls and kick panels of the vehicle. But the sidewalls of the floormat don't go up nearly as high as they really should to ensure dirt and grime only gets on the floormat. Same for the Ford OEM ones on my Maverick. Driver's side floor mat, there is zero coverage under the accelerator pedal, so dirt just ends up on the carpet under the accelerator pedal and I end up having to vacuum that every time I clean the vehicle.

Weathertech's website shows the Expedition floor mats on their own, then uses stock photos of WTs in random vehicles. I would like to see the mats in a 4th gen Expy.

Price-wise, WTs are $200, Huskies are $215 and Oedro's are $140 for three rows with 2nd row captain's/buckets. I already have rear cargo mats that I'm happy with. It's the kids and the dogs that really make the mess.

The Ford all-weather mats seem pretty good (polymer/rubber).

They came standard with my ‘24 MAX Limited (Excursion trim). I also purchased the Ford all-weather cargo mat that extends up the back of the 3rd row (Velcro).

No complaints so far.

Mind snapping a quick photo for me when you have time? I'm not opposed to OEM if they are a good fit, but in my experience that's often hit/miss.

Here you go.
(Excuse the dirt).
Driver’s footwell and second row.
Not perfect, but good.

Car didn’t come with 3rd row coverage, haven’t checked whether Ford makes a set for the third row (and space between 2nd row Captains) also.

much appreciated. That driver's footwell is designed the same way as the OEMs on my Maverick. I really hate that there's no coverage under the accelerator. The other ones look pretty good but I would like tighter coverage if possible.

Ended up ordering the first, second and third-row set from Oedro (Cargo area is already covered by a set we ordered from Amazon). They have a sale going on right now with a coupon code that takes them from $139 down to $91. The coverage looks pretty good, the photos on their page showed the mats in an Expedition and a reviewer had also posted photos of them in their Expy and it looked like they came right up to the seat tracks and fit tight against sidewalls.

Will post some photos for others once I receive.

Let us know fit/finish/quality when you get em. I have always bought Weather Tech in the past, but at 1/2 the price, leaning toward the Oedro's. I mean it's a floor mat for crying out loud and if less cost gives me the same coverage it's a win.

No expereince with Oedro's, but, I had Weathertechs for all 3 rows and the cargo liner and when I complained about them curling/not laying flat/not happy after a year of use, they just refunded me/sent them back. I replaced those with Husky Xacts and their Weatherbeater cargo liner for my 2019. The Huskys are just better/soft compound and lay flatter/worked better for the five years we had them. So, I bought a new set of the exact same Huskys for our new '24 rig - just as good/exactly what I hoped for, they fit great (maybe even better than on the '19?) and don't interfere with operation of seats/doors/liftgate whatsoever. Very happy with them and I also like the 100% coverage. If you spilled a gallon of soda on the floor the mats are channeled such that it would run over the sill plate and out the bottom of the doors.

I have the weather techs in my 2022 and I absolutely hate them. It’s supposed to be a great fit and I got them for my 22 when the 22 first came out, it said it fit but I was hesitant due to the slight redesign but bought them anyways. I have never been able to use the tilt and slide with the seats without them getting hung up on the floor mat. If there’s anyone that has a set of these all weather mats that fit great and you can use the tilt & slide, I’ll buy them like immediately. We have 3 kids so use the back row and using the tilt and slide to get to them is so obnoxious with the mat.

I have both Weather Tech and heavy rubber ones that came with the vehicle originally. Both are good. WT makes a great storage area mat and a great second row mat.

I put in the ford full set in all 4 areas right away getting my 2022 max. They are all great but the best thing is how the rear one sticks to the carpet and folds when you fold the seats.

My wife bought weathertech for our 2020 Platinum. The front and back stay put. There is no movement. She bought the full size cargo liner which she either have to fold up or remove with the third row up. You wouldn't have that problem with you having a Max edition. We also have the captains chairs as the second row. I like the front and the back seat floor mats. I think the Husky is a better fitting cargo mat in the the TH cargo mat doesn't have those nubs on a the underside. Personally I would have compared WT with Husky before buying. Or bought both on Amazon and returned them if I didn't like them.

Driver's
Driver's floor mats were pretty close to what I'd hoped for. Higher sidewalls, full coverage on the foot rest and full coverage under the accelerator.I do wishit came a little further under the seat and right up to the driver's seat tracks, but this is still much better than the OEM mats we had.

Front Passenger
The story on the front passenger side is much the same. I think the coverage could be slightly better. I wish it ran higher up the front wall of the footwell here and also provided better coverage on the side kick where you can see someone has already gotten it dirty. Still this is loads better than the OEM Ford mats and much better fitting. Interestingly on the front passenger side Ford did not install plastic retention stubs but Odero included some that basically just have carpet gripping spikes on the bottom. I've not installed them yet as it started raining and I am made of sugar.

Second Row
Second row coverage is really good. The mats come right up to the center console and also right up to the seat tracks. There's just really not a lot that isn't protected here.
second-row-driver.jpeg

Second Row Pass Through
Coverage on the second row pass through is pretty good as well. One thing to note is that the second row, second row passthrough and third row are all a single unit. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about this. The result is that these mats are clearly intended to stay in place and not be something you remove with great frequency. It's not hard to take them out, it's just if you're removing them because they need to be cleaned then the chances are good you're also going to get a little dirty in the process of removing them and trying to keep the dirt contained to this large mat. Nothing a quick sweep of the vacuum can't handle to get most of the loose stuff out before you remove them for a thorough cleaning.

One day someone will figure out a two or three piece design that limits the ability of dirt to get under the mats. Its a harder problem to solve for well than it sounds like as I've had two and three piece designs before and dirt always gets underneath them where they meet, even if they overlap.

Third Row
Third row coverage is decent but probably the worst of the three and that makes some sense. They could have ridden up that rear wall under the seat to increase coverage and the sidewalls (or lackof) leave much to be desired back here. There is a flap that tucks under the captains chairs to provide some coverage there in case your third row passengers are kind enough to stow their feet.

All in all, I'm pretty satisfied with these for less than $100. The material is definitely flexible but firm. They are probably not as thick and rubbery and some might like, but I expect they will hold up just fine. They are flexible enough to fold over on themselves when divided in half but you shouldn't have the impression that they're going to be incredibly flimsy or just take to any shape at all. There's some rigidity to them as well.

I was using WeatherTech for years, and switched to Husky Liners. I like Husky better. A little more pliable, full carpet coverage and a bit easier to clean.

I experimented with taking the one-piece second and third row floor mat out today. It wasn’t fun.

I am already thinking about ponying up for the Husky mats. Would appreciate real world in vehicle photos if you have the time @TonyR0206. They don’t need to be clean. Dirty is in many ways better!
