Simple Green and Awesome arent as caustic as Castrol Cleanup and they are easier on the paint.
I use Gunk Foam Engine Degreaser or Gunk Regular Degreaser and let it sit while the engine cools down at the local car wash. Then I high pressure it from all angles and call it a day.
I've washed the engine twice so far and havent had a problem, but the engine wasnt hot from just driving it. I always leave the car wash and drive on interstate a bit to dry my vehicles then head home.
