To answer your question about calibration, it is mentioned near the end of the video I'll link to. I pulled my fuse before I even started the replacement and manually turned the receptacle in the box to match the position of the notch of the drive gear in the actuator. I'll add that it likely should have been calibrated before you first used the replacement part.
